It is great to hear A singing his own music again... I do miss the sheer biggness of the sound from Queen shows and they have pretty much same number of musicians on stage plus back up singers so no reason they couldn't beef it up as appropriate. Of course music style is quite different but I also miss Dr Bri weaving his guitar magic - not so much the rock bits but the way he would weave it to the melody really bought the music to life. Queen is known for their "wall of sound".....so, can't compare. I do wish Tommy's guitar was more front and center. I like a lead guitar, I consider it as another vocalist. I want to like Tommy as the lead but he hasn't grabbed me yet -- maybe cuz I just can't seen to hear him. I wonder what the industry spin in on him as a lead? Has anyone ever critiqued the band? eta: soooooo happy to have Adam back Stateside and singing his own stuff.....just needed to add that! I so agree w/you re: QUeen. Last night I was youtubing...replaying performances of QUeen and I can't beleive the skill of Brian. His playing on "live for ever" just blows me away. I can hear the heart felt longing/crying emotion when he hits those high notes. It's like he has a violin. Just unbelievable. I'm not feeling it yet from this crew. Now back to listening again. ALSO: anyone... THe dragon on my back..the vid where he shows his back to the audience, does the bendy, bendy with the legs but finishes it off w/ deep knee squats. Does anyone have the link????? I found one where he does a little dance but not this one. I need to revisit this vid a few times. |

My brother is the lead-guitarist in a rockband for almost 30 years now and he's not too much into Adams music although he loves his voice. But the first thing he said, when I showed him some vids of Adam on stage with Tommy:"Get rid of him - he's not good at all. Maybe a bluesguitarist but the way he plays is not suited for rock or pop". That's not nessecarily my opinion for I don't know anything about guitarplaying and I like Tommy, because I think he's a nice guy.... So I don't know :dunno: Just repeating what my big brother said ;D |

I'm not a huge fan of the band but it's kind of unfair to compare them to freakin' QUEEN, doncha think?
 Maybe it is unfair but again watching last night, and just now watching a few vid's here (psst I'm at work..so sneaking them in) That is one big thing that jumped out at me. There are talented musicians and then there are top notched musicians just as there in are in any professions i.e. I feel Adam if superior to other artists. SO i'm not trying to put anyone down just acknowledging the suberb skills of Brian. AND if Queen comes to NY or anywhere chose to me, I'll be there in a heartbeat. |

After going to the Queen concerts then watching the videos there is a huge sound difference so it is really hard to make comments on the videos from yesterday. I do love having them and thanks to all that make them. I know they must have sounded great live last night.
