What are your different thoughts on why Adam wants to be an AI judge so badly. I know why we might want him to, or maybe not want him to, but why do we think he wants it as much as he seems to. (This isn't meant to start any arguments, just curious what ya'll think.) I can think of three reasons: Visibility - Millions of people will see him and hear him and he will increase his fan base. Dollars - Will make him more financially secure so he can take risks and do things he might not be able to do otherwise. Help others - I really think he loves helping people and sharing his knowledge of the business. Before he officially served as a mentor he was actually doing that during AI8 with his competitors!

I'll never catch up completely, but I speed-read the last couple of days and wanted to answer a question a couple of people had on yesterday's thread about FS2.
The reserved rows in the center section are for members of the tribe which runs the casino, and for casino VIPs, according to one of the security guards who was near me. He said that they are always kept reserved, and no one is allowed to sit in them except for those people. Even if they want to show up for the last 5 minutes of a show, the seat needs to be available to them.
As for what they did when Adam told them to stand up-- for the most part they all promptly stood up, lol. And stayed standing for quite some time. Many of them looked like they were very much into the music and having a good time. Toward the end, a handful of older people left, and by then many had sat down again.
I still think Adam was really craving close crowd contact and energy and that he wasn't happy to have this little barrier of non-berts between him and his own fans, which is why he called people up and then ultimately plunged into the crowd himself.

I know that my vision is distorted because I spend time on Adam sites, but it sure seems that Adam is getting a ton of interest and support for the Idol gig. Jordin, and Haley gave him probs and Teen Choice Awards and Pia gave him her approval too. Lots of mention in lots of places. I hope the powers at Fox are aware of this support. His always being hard working, professional and above all nice is paying off in goodwill given by many in the entertainment industry and press.

I think he would enjoy the job flat out. He likes talking and he'd be good at it I think he knows he'll never be separated from Idol and the "stigma" so better join them than try and beat 'em. The money WERQ! The publicity for his music sales WERQ x2! NO downside to this, IMO. I think there's a chance radio will play him if he gets the job AND releases the next single in that timeframe. If not it would be a really big LOL on radio. The respect he'll get from nay sayers just like with Queen gig, he knows he can DO IT WELL and will change the minds of many people who think otherwise, and/or pick up people who thought he isn't around anymore or who never heard of him or never gave him a chance for whatever reason. I'm also thinking if it's true they are totally revamping the show including that bus thing where they go around and get peeps from all over and peeps nominated for try outs without their knowledge there may be other roles for him other than judging. Like mentor or like the "roving" judge like they pull up to someone's house and they have to try out on the spot LOL. Takes someone with the gift of gab and guts to do crap like that. LIke when he mentored and was telling that young kid to "growl" and making all those grunts and faces trying to get him to respond LOL. Then the kid did the song and did none of it haha. I liked Jamie Foxx for his nontraditional mentoring style, too. Getting in their faces 3 inches away LOL. Go Adam, judge away!

Re the 5 reasons: they are bad from Adam's perspective. Those would be the reasons why AI should want Adam ( acc to the article), but they're not Adam's reasons for wanting it. I'm sure he has a nice set of his own ~~~~ Re OOL: There is this pop music composer in Serbia, very popular, very prolific. He makes hits one after the other very easily. He's very respected also, every song has this lower start and then it builds up to a very dramatic finale, bunch of instruments there and other stuff appreciated by the music professionals. I can't stand him. Because he starts making a song thinking in advance what will make people tick and react to a song. Like a cake, he makes them after a recipe: a little bit of this, a little bit of that... It sounds great, but fake. He isn't a musician, acc to me, he's a salesperson. Selling songs like tomatoes. I have more respect for a peasant selling actual tomatoes on a market. I think Adam is an artist who makes songs because he HAS TO make them, because they are inside him. OOL is like a whisper of his soul to me. I know some of you probably think I'm melodramatic and a drama queen, but that's how I feel. I don't think you are melodramatic. You are passionate and poetic. OOL is like a whisper of his soul to me Adam's performance of OOL at Fantasy Springs reached out and grabbed my heart. It was sung with honest emotion to fans who would understand and return his offering with hugs and support. Sometimes, Adam just needs a hug.

There were over 112 articles in one day alone, on Adam getting on the Idol panel! And I am sure TPTB are aware that he is a media/PR/hoopla magnet!
