We get so over-excited just thinking about the next new Pretty Little Liars episode coming up on Tuesday that we sometimes forget that there are episodes after the summer finale. Luckily, Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with PLL’s Brendan Robinson (Lucas) at the Staples for Students Teen Choice Awards after party at The Globe Theater in Universal City, CA on Sunday, July 22, to talk about the upcoming Halloween episode (including Adam Lambert’s role) and what the cast is like when they aren’t filming.

Brendan Robinson: I will try to pull that off. If I can. I don’t know if it’s even possible but yeah we’re in the middle of filming our Halloween episode right now. Adam Lambert is guest starring. He starts tomorrow. He will be on set with us and it’s going to be a scary, scary episode. I’m not saying that Adam Lambert is scary though. That’s not what I’m saying. He’s playing himself so he’s not like A or something.

Mariah Carey Set To Judge On 'American Idol'

While the latter was old news in the wake of Lopez's teary farewell last week, what Reilly (Fox President Kevin Reilly) did not reveal is who will fill out the rest of the judging roster. Carey, 42, will reportedly earn $17 million for one season, which puts her just above the reported $15 million Britney Spears is taking in for her role on ex-"Idol" judge Simon Cowell's "X Factor."

With Spears and Demi Lovato heating things up on "Factor" and Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton bringing their star power to "The Voice," the bold name arms race in the reality singing world has gone into overdrive over the past year. Former "Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert?, whose asking price will most surely be well below Carey's diamond-studded price tag, has been rumored to be circling the third seat on the panel, but Reilly didn't address that possibility on Monday.

Mariah Carey joins American Idol Season 12 judging panel

American Idol confirms that Mariah Carey will be joining the judging panel for Season 12. Here are 5 good reasons why Adam Lambert should follow.

It's official. After weeks of speculation and rumors, American Idol and Mariah Carey have confirmed that the diva would be bringing her brand of glitter to the Season 12 judging panel. Who will be joining Mimi on the panel is yet to be determined but as reported here last week, a deal with Ms. Carey could result in another season for veteran judge Randy Jackson, who has worked with Carey extensively over the years. And just as a deal with Carey may mean another year for Jackson, it pretty much guarantees an end to Jennifer Lopez's reign on American Idol. Shortly after Steven Tyler announced his departure, Lopez indicated that she was 99 percent sure she would also be exiting.

Apparently, 1 percent of her was holding out for another increase in her salary.

But since a deal with Carey surely does not come cheap (hubby Nick Canon previously announced that Idol simply could not afford to hire his wife), producers have no need to bring on another diva with outrageous salary demands, which means that after two lackluster seasons, Lopez has finally become redundant. So who will fill the remaining mystery seat?

Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert's name has been mentioned frequently over the past few weeks and, with the addition of Mariah Carey, Lambert becomes an even more attractive candidate for the final spot. Here are five reasons why Adam Lambert could prove to be the perfect addition:

1. Confidence: Having appeared with the band KISS and members of Queen during his season, Lambert has already proven that he has the confidence to hold his own among other famous celebrities.

2. Celebrity: While history has definitely taught us that stars do not necessarily make good judges, it seems that producers are no longer willing to take a chance on non-celebrities like they did with Simon Cowell and Jackson in Season 1. Lambert represents a nice middle-of-the-road choice; not quite a superstar, but definitely not an unknown. And he was also one of Idol's more controversial contestants.

3. Economy: Lambert, though a fledgling star, would certainly represent a more economical choice than that of Tyler, Lopez and Carey.

4. Branding: What better way to promote the Idol machine than by hiring past contestants?

5. Chemistry: Since Carey and Jackson are already as thick as thieves, the third judge will need to be someone who can hold their own but not so well that they steal the spotlight from Carey. Lambert, as a past member of the dog house, already has an established rapport with Jackson and since he's not famous enough to threaten Carey, they could certainly bond over their shared sense of bold style and drama.

So there you have it, five good reasons why Lambert would be a great choice as an Idol judge. But since my critiques of Lopez and Tyler have had little impact over the last two seasons, I'm starting to suspect that the producers may not be consulting this blog for advice.

Mariah Talks About Judging IDOL + Adam Lambert to Join?

What has been a rumor for the last few weeks since the announcement that both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were leaving American Idol, has now been confirmed…five-time Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah Carey will join season 12 as the new judge.

“As a singer, songwriter and producer, it’s going to be fun and rewarding to help find new talent and give back with AMERICAN IDOL,” said Mariah Carey. “I’m currently in the studio working on my new album and its first single, ‘Triumphant,’ which will be out early next month. I can’t wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show which is a massive global phenomenon.”

There is still no confirmation yet if original Idol judge Randy Jackson will stay on board for season 12 or who will fill the third judges seat, however rumors right now are pointing to Idol alum Adam Lambert.

Idol has also announced that there will two new ways of audition for the upcoming season during their TCA Summer Press Tour. Online auditions for Season 12 will be open from Wednesday, Aug. 1 through Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 and The “AMERICAN IDOL Small Town Audition Bus Tour” will stop at the following cities: Idaho Falls, ID; Billings, MT; Casper, WY; Rock Rapids, IA; Iowa City, IA; Bowling Green, KY; Clarksdale, MS; Joplin, MO; Dodge City, KA; and Grand Junction, CO.
