I don't know who these 2 men are but I love them! Wondering what Paul Rodgers is thinking of the many reviews saying he was a bad fit. I know there are Paul Rodger fans here and not denying the man can sing. But for Queen, IMO, he really was a bad fit.

Beginning we saw elsewhere – the fans greeting B&R the concert cost – about $1 mil Adam mentions: 1:18 the concert rehearsals took place in total secrecy, the main surprise – is the new vocalist, Adam Lambert, the alum of the AI.. This is his first tour with the group, but it was the performance with Queen on the AI that brought Adam his win at the finale of AI [yes, this is exactly what they said ]. However no one from Queen has confirmed that Adam is a full group member. Roger Taylor, who is also the financial director of the group, has said many times that Adam is talented, a showman and is close to Freddie in his performance style. The previous experiment with the PR turned out to be a disappointment, the joint album tanked… 1:52 The situation with Lambert is the opposite: his own carrier is on the rise, his album TP that came out in March, sold over 100K in just a few days 2:05 B: we have not made any decisions. For now we are doing 6 concerts and follow our instincts. This might be the end of our collaboration or may be not. 3:15 Sergei Astakhov [actor, I suppose a big name in Russia www.fandango.com/sergeiastakhov/filmography/p80115] who came with his daughter Masha simply could not miss this show : “ there will never be this kind of music again, look, there are people from 9 year old to middle age people like me”. The actor admitted that he was waiting for this performance, and he was following Adam for the full year now. “I am quite sure that [Adam] is the only qualified person on the scene today who could compensate for Freddie not being with us. And I think that in about 2-3 years people like Adam will be the trend setters for rock, pop and anything else you want to call it. He is amazingly talented, with this outstanding voice, and that is why I am sure that today will be mobbed with people. 4:30 Producer Victor Drobush is more conservative in his expectations: ‘no one can replace Mercury but if anyone can give it some good interpretation, some interesting color and if it all works then they will tour all over the world. I think that it did not work out with Rogers…not at all…and I, like an idiot, went to Stockholm to hear them…
4:45 the moment finally came and from the very first sounds it became clear that the $1 mil was well spent. The sound and light equipment was hauled to Russia by 23 trailers. The journalists were allowed to film only the first three songs.
5:23 The show went for over 2 hours, presenting the biggest hits. Several days from now the show will go to London
nicaThank you, so much! Imagine, 23 trailers for the equipment!! I'd guess that Adam received a substantial paycheck. Do you think Brian & Roger made any money on this mini-tour? I've posted your translation with the YouTube review here: Trespassing Era Moscow Concert atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=tres&thread=985&page=1#267366

So I guess if he wrote a song saying black people are lazy and just like to sit around eating watermelon and fried chicken, that would be okay because it's just a song and chances are he's just joking, hardee har har har. Sorry, but when someone like Paisley says things--even in a song--that are hurtful and ignorant, it's not up to me to research him and prove he's not a bigot. It's up to him to show that he's not. And he could start by not releasing songs that make fun of specific groups of people. Whoops, too late. So you've made up your mind that he's a homophobic bigot based on TWO VERSES of a song that's not even about gay men but rather about girls who try to change their boyfriends?
Adam certainly hasn't made some of his fans less judgmental so.....
There are more than two verses, but let's skip that. ~ Sometimes one word is enough to reveal someone as a homophobe. If someone hits you, do you have to wait for more hits before calling them a bully? Can you measure hate? How many verses does it take, acc to you? I'm an activist and have been for years, however I do not see homophobia in every word spoken and every word unspoken. IMO the word homophobia is used WAY too loosely these days just as the word bully is used too loosely and because of this the impact and meaning of these words have been and continue to be diminished. ~ I think that your reaction diminishes the word, both the homophobia and the bully. To me, the words in the song are clear as day. He ridicules the men who groom themselves. Excuse me for gay men coming to my mind. Or metrosexuals. Or effeminate straight men. Whatever, ridiculing is unacceptable, to say the least. Not to mention 'the gun in his truck' he's so proud of having. Maybe one day he decides to not stop at ' knocking some jerk to the ground' and take that gun out. You know, because he's the guy and he has to teach people their senses. What stupidity? Guys like sex. They will try for it any chance they get. A back rub can turn into more and that's what he's referring to. He's not diminishing anyone. A BACK RUB CANNOT / SHOULD NOT TURN INTO SOMETHING MORE IF BOTH PARTIES DON'T AGREE. And in the song the lady clearly did not give him the permission. But he obviously doesn't need any, because 'he's the guy' Omg. 'Guys like sex'! Well, girls like it too. What we don't like is when we don't want it, and show that clearly, to have some jerk go on, because 'he's the guy'. Also, calling other posters words 'stupidity' is not all right, imho. Quote: I'm pretty certain effeminate limp wristed Adam Lambert is also "still a man I find that description of Adam quite offensive and demeaning to be honest. Those are not Swarm's words, an interviewer called him that recently. I agree. They are awfully offensive and demeaning. Quote: I'm sorry but heterosexual people not closely related to an LGBT person, really have no clue of what it's like to spend your entire life on a straight cruise ship with no port of safety except behind the locked doors of your little cabin room. Why does one have to be closely related to an LGBT person to have a clue? I've walked, worked and struggled along side the LGBT community for years, but no, I'm not closely related to a gay person; that doesn't mean I'm clueless. You are not clueless, but you can never know what it's like. For me, even worse than homophobia sometimes, is when a straight person tells a gay person that he should not feel offended. But, in spite of all this, I'm not calling Brad a homophobe. My final conclusion is , based on the song 'I'm still a guy', that Mr. Brad Paisley is a gun-carrying, offensive jerk and a douchebag. The whole song reeks of disrespect. I call it a hate speech. Definition of hate speech: Hate speech is, outside the law, any communication which disparages a person or a group on the basis of some characteristic such as race, disability, ethnicity, gender, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation, or other characteristic.

There is, however, a supposedly neutral "newscaster's accent." American Accent Influences It's not a "turnamint", it's a tournament — toor-na-ment. What the hell is this? I mean, Springsteen doesn't go on "turr." No, he goes on tour. "All right, guys, we're going on turr... One, two, three, furr!" —Pittsburgh native Craig Shoemaker on the differences between inland-New-England and Texas accents About the technical details of American Accents.

Interesting! As a Texas women working in the north east I finally had to take classes to correct my accent, cause those Bostonians would comment on it all the time. Watching I8 I knew Adam was gay only by the way he pronounced certain words, record was the one word where I could hear weho!! (wasn't Adamized at that point reading everything about him on the web, twice) My dh can hear someone speak and tell exactly where they are from. He uses it to open a conversation with strangers!!!
Adam has a definite pronunciation of his own when he sings. I hear Indiana in some words. I don't hear it so much when he talks. My speech is fairly unaccented - a combo of midwest, florida and longtime California. But I met a cabbie once in New York who id'd the midwest, actually hit the state, hearing me talk. My husband channels his inner Brooklyn when he gets excited. We are a real mishmash in the US. There are some places where English feels like a foreign language - deep south, Appalachia, Boston to name a few ;D
