Q3 I am not trying to be argumentative. I really do what to understand, and you are probably 1,000 times more knowledge about the music business than I do but when you said Idol is not the ONLY path for Adam, just one possible path what other paths do you envision? The only three avenues that I can see that bring in an audience large enough to change his current trajectory are radio (the road most traveled in Pop), a recurring role on TV or a role in a major motion picture. Even a performance as epic as Adam+Queen didn't seem to help his career as far as sales go. Certainly a smallish tour for your fans does very little to expand your fan base. I have been pondering this a lot lately and can't think of any good answers. Like I said, I know nothing about the music business and Adam is the first person whose career has been on my radar screen.

Don't get me wrong, I really, really what you "something big and positive is about to happen" people to be right. I have an advanced degree in worrywart. What a coincidence - I have a doctorate in that same degree. ;D |

That's I-V-vi-IV though, in this case it's IV-V-vi-I which is rarer. That I-V-vi-IV is actually used on Cuckoo's chorus though, just starting on the IV so it's IV-I-V-vi Also Map's chorus, starting on vi! |

He's an actor! Of course he can do it. "Being himself" and acting a role are not the same thing or even what he was referring to, I'm sure. You don't think you are watching actors right now that are in the closet and gay that are playing romantic leads? No wonder so many actors actors stay in the closet!  Neil Patrick Harris does it every week and is accepted just fine. |

If a straight man can play gay man in a film, why can't a gay man play a straight man? I think Adam is sexy and fascinating and loveable -- and would love to see him on the "big screen" in almost any role!! Hmmm.. he could and be great in that for big audiance. Not for me though since I would know so vividly it is wrong. AND he has said he wants to be himself, so playing a romatic role would feel somehow false to me even with a man, even though better than with a woman. Conlusion: I just want him to sing and present the mood of the song and his own state of mind .
Yes but there is a difference in being yourself in life and playing a part in a movie or series. Adam has often stated he would love to play a part in film. Even when he sings he is emoting the lyrics of the song. A great example of this are the concerts he did with Queen. I was so struck how beautifully he brought the Queen songs to life. Often I felt like I was watching a rock opera performance. But of course he did that when he was doing musical theater, acting a role. |
