Q3 -- Thanks for all the information regarding the current state of the music business and paths to success. All I will add (for those who are worrying--I'm not, but that's just me) is that there have been some very famous acts that NEVER had big radio success and were/are iconic and extremely successful. The Grateful Dead and Phish come to mind, as well as Dave Matthews to some extent (does get play but not the way other folks with his status do). Actually, Glamberts remind me of Deadheads in the way we follow Adam around from concert to concert. I met some Deadheads who spent most of a year one time following the band to all their concerts--they got to be friends with some of the staff and band members, too.
BTW, Adam has great comedic timing and instincts and would be great in a comedic role sometime. I know he would love to play a role on True Blood, too! Right now I want him to continue making music--but again, I'm happy to have him happy!

;D ;D And why on earth would these posters sway Adam's decision AT ALL? Adam has made it clear he does not like to be put in a box by ANYONE-- even fellow gays. He has said on more than one occasion that he hopes for diversity within the gay community and that he does not want to be told how to be gay. The posters on Queerty regularly bash Adam. They're so predictable. Meanwhile, and without the help of Queerty, Adam is drawing a more diverse audience at his concerts-- including more young gay men. He's doing it by staying true to himself and letting his talent and drive and personality speak for him. I respect that and, I think, so do many other people-- gay and straight.

OT but interesting:
mjsbigblog @mjsbigblog Headlines: Lauren Alaina cancels 2 shows for vocal rest, Daughtry show also cancelled!
Now this is where years of theater and vocal training come in handy. Just saying.

Q3 mentioned online concerts in her post. Man, we'll listen to crappy ustreams in the middle of the night if we have to. Imagine if we could get high-quality online concerts. I know I'd throw money at that in the blink of an eye. That Kiev TV feed was a taste of what's possible - manna from heaven.

I totally suggest you ask your male gay actor friends how much FUN it is playing a str8 love interest and if they'd expect Adam to chose that as his FIRST MOVIE ROLE! How may people are going to CAPSLOCK ME "IT'S CALLED ACTING". Maybe wanna re-read what I actually SAID LOL. No shade, I'm going to assume we have some non native language speakers here getting up in arms. Since I'm vegan, I am not remotely interested in acting in a movie about hunting UNLESS I NEED TO PAY THE BILLS. sigh. LOL on the gay blogs, I am anything but ~controversial. Stop by some time for more shocks! Swarm, for what it's worth, I don't find you at all controversial or shocking -- so no worries there. Personally, I don't think it's very polite to assume someone would have to be a non-native English speaker to 'get up in arms' re: your suggestion that the response of gay actors to playing a straight romantic role would be boredom or some other negative reaction. I would understand if you said you would feel that way but to project it onto gay and/or straight actors reflects a rather shallow understanding of acting. Yes, I do know a number of professional actors both gay and straight and they would be amused by this suggestion. For pure speculation, I don't know how Adam would feel about an acting role or about playing a straight romantic lead but as he is a very open minded artist who has noted 'sexy is sexy' and that it can be enjoyable to kiss women - I don't think it's such a leap to think he would agree a gay actor would not by definition be bored or repelled by by a leading lady. As for enjoying the acting experience, there are many classic stories of leading men and ladies who despised each other and even found each other physically repulsive. Based on the actors I know that would be a much worse situation in terms of 'enjoyment' than playing the opposite orientation opposite a co-star they liked/respected. While I realize such statements are likely more for provocation than serious suggestion, I respond because I wouldn't want anyone to give weight to such an idea - the generalization that gay actors would find playing a straight romantic role unrewarding; many of the great theater roles fall into this category and actors of all kinds are dying to play those roles because it's 'fun' to play a great role and they don't find women 'yuck'. Of course, when someone like Ramin Setoodeh suggests in Newsweek that gay actors are unconvincing as straight characters I suppose some people actually buy into such close minded thinking. And I don't think Queerty's comment section is any more or less representative of the LGBT community than the comment section on Perez Hilton or Gawker is of the larger online crowd. (I have to go download 'Call Me Maybe' now )

Many of the posters on Queerty are not gay. So I take all anon posts with a grain huge lump of salt. Some of the people who troll there use the same IDs they use on Idol sites. Not too smart but I recall in my childhood fairy tales that the trolls were easy to find (look under the bridge) and easier to fool. ---- On online concerts -- we have the technology. Frankly, I expect to see Adam in this space someday. And did I mention cable On Demand??? Seriously, making money is not ever going to be a problem for Adam. ----- My nightmare scenario: Adam gets offered $100 million to do a Vegas show. He says yes. And we all have to move to Vegas. Now I love Adam. I like Las Vegas. But do I want to live in a city inhabited by 100,000 Glamberts!!?!??! YIPES!!
