My son does remixes more rarely now; he says he often feels like he'd rather keep what he comes up with in a remix for his own songs, ones he has a chance of earning royalties on. Now he only does remixes if the money is especially good or if there is something really creatively inspiring about the track or the artist. His latest remix was for the new Gossip single. I hope this answers some of your questions. I will email him your list and post his responses. Lynne, since this is "Off da [Adam] Grid Day" is there any way you could post a link to his remix of the Gossip single? I'd love to hear it! (note: gotta go "off da grid" myself for the evening in a few mins, so I may not be here for your response, but I promise I'll come back and search for it!)

Whatyasay, Do you think all those new CDs were a restock, or were they left over from when Trespassing was release? Late responding... out doing yard work ;D ... it was definitely a restock. I've been watching and they have had maybe 6 combined up until now.

So what do you all think lyrics should or need to do for them to create a "good" song according to your definition? I’ve been thinking about your question for a while, but not too hard, obviously, and haven’t come up with an answer coherent enough. In the process of it, I tried to remember all the songs I liked for their lyrics specifically. Many came to my mind, but I realized that I loved them not only for their lyrics. That is to say, the music and the voice and the lyrics form the triangle of the song which is hardly breakable into meaningful lines afterwards. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an equilateral triangle, i.e. the importance of the parts can vary. But even when I think of music’s great story-tellers, like Neil Young or Van Morrison or Jeff Buckley, beautiful lyrics never come alone to my mind; their unique voices accompany and breathe life into them. Without music and voices, lyrics are just lifeless words on a piece of paper. And when parts perfectly fit, we get art. Or to put it more simply and effectively, a good song. My only exception are Adam’s lyrics. I have developed a profound, irrational and inexplicable attachment to them: blind adoration would sum it up perfectly. Maybe I read too much into them or read too much into Adam, but that’s how I like it. Which could mean that without the investment of a listener, who, by personal involvement, attaches special meaning on top of the existing and interprets the words from his/her own viewpoint, lyrics remain what they are: one of the elements of a song. The moment in time, or their applicability can also give relevance to lyrics ( like anthems and such). For example, we have the permission to talk about other musicians today. I expected to see pages and pages on KA, KP, LG, that schmuck Brad and such… But no, it’s not interesting enough when it’s allowed, I guess, lol. And so many of us bitched about how boring it was that only news about Adam could be posted on Adam’s News thread, imagine that. I’m typing and laughing at the absurdity of it. It’s typical for human nature. So, to illustrate this, here’s the song which is great because the voice and the lyrics and the music perfectly complement each other, making it a great song :

[/IMG]
Ha,,, i have no reason now for the turtle other than I think he's cute.. but unfortunately he does not have your CD hidden in his shell. Wish he did, and that he had the other Faults that still haven't arrived at their destinations. How screwed is that?

Awwww... thanks guys for all the positive feedback    Glad you are enjoying it.
I'm doing this re-cap using InDesign to type it up, Photoshop (all photos have to be re-sized), then uploading to Photobucket, my twitter page and here, so it's like putting a jigsaw puzzle together Copy/pasting like a mofo ;D
IT'S MOSCOW FOLKS! - FREAKING MOSCOW!
So here we are - at looooong..... last. Russia is a place that I never in my wildest dreams I ever thought I would visit. The physical reality is that it’s more than just a hop, skip and jump away from NZ. It really is ‘the other side of the world’ for me.
Catzmadam Thanks 4 good wishes y’all. Trying 2 tweet in taxi, take pictures & sightsee at the same time o__O will get back 2 everyone later
So, we get to the hotel and this is our view
I mean c’mon, seriously. I’m feeling like I’ve just woken up in a Disney movie set.
Catzmadam JanuarySnow Yay! vecadam & I are at hotel. Moscow has put on a beautiful day for us
(JanuarySnow is our very own JanuarySnow here)
Catzmadam lidbud Dazed & confused tbh Exhausted & exhilarated all at once…
Catzmadam Just had the BEST shower EVAH!!! I’m clean *bounce, bounce, bounce* We’re off on local walkabout now.
We get ourselves sorted and wander out. Both of us are in a dream like state at this stage. Across the road a bit is one of the most amazing markets I’ve ever seen. It started off all touristy and then it just kept opening up and going and going and going - a huge, complex maze that went for miles. It was mind boggling and culturally wonderful.
Want a Babushka doll or fluffy hat - go for it ;D
I really, really, really wanted one of these - they were gorjus - but I had to be practical and realise that it simply doesn't get cold enough in NZ to warrant one *pouts*
We crawl back to the hotel hours later, sated and happy, but by day one I’ve already got blisters on my feet. Don’t forget we have just left New Zealand in the middle of winter and the shortest days. Moscow was hot and still light at 10.00pm! Now, in a bizarre twist - considering our location - WE COULDN’T WATCH THE KIEV CONCERT LIVE!!! That’s right, we were basically right next door to the Ukraine and 1) it wasn’t shown on TV (that we could find) and 2) I couldn’t get any of the live streams to work. Our frustration levels were through the roof, but then so was our jet lag, so we decided to crash early and hope for vids. JanuarySnow Catzmadam Hello! You r here! Great!
Catzmadam JanuarySnow we will see you tomorrow, can not wait!!! Is Kiev on TV here, do you know? If so what chanel? This next bit however, will be indelibly burned into my brain for the rest of my lifetime. It was surreal. :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: We crashed, but I awoke around 2.00am Russian time. I’m a heavy smoker so my story will be constantly littered with me going for ‘ciggie’ breaks - sorry, but that’s just me, so no lectures please . You will be surprised at what these ‘odd’ breaks netted me over the course of the trip...lol So, my body clock wakes me up at 2.00am. Vecadam is dead to the world (bless her). I get up and disappear out of our room, down the hotel corridor in my nightie and out through an emergency exit onto a tiny, concrete only balcony for a ciggie..... ummm with my iPad (as ya do : The first thing I do is go looking for the Kiev vids which were just surfacing at that point. Within 30 seconds I understood that I had to immerse myself properly in this outstandingly beautiful goodness. Sitting on the concrete floor of a balcony, 19 stories up at 2.00am was not going to cut it. So, I go back to the room and quietly put ~proper clothes on and go down to the lobby. I arrive in the lobby where there is a restaurant, a coffee/bar thingy and considering the time frame here, a whole large group of people having a really good time. They were drinking and were well into their cups by then. Someone pulled a guitar out and the lobby became full of this group folk singing to it. I wanted to listen desperately as it was a special and beautiful slice of local culture... but, but... there were Kiev vids to watch. Guess who won...lol I set up my iPad, plugged in my earphones and =====> went places. You have no idea what this felt like guise. Here I was on the other side of the world after the longest day EVAH... and through the joys of technology I was watching our boy perform this unbelievable ‘moment’ in history. I’m not going to lie. I was so emotional that I had to keep wiping the tears away surreptitiously, so the other peeps didn’t think I was some kinda looney. The fact that I probably am some kinda looney is irrelevant OK I sat there for maybe two hours, oblivious to anything else except watching the vids on repeat. When I ‘came around’ I realised that it was dawn outside and it was my first morning waking up in Russia. The group of locals were still going strong... :4OMG: and I knew that none of them understood what I was feeling right then. Gawd! I’ve just got all weepy again just typing about it. Catzmadam OMG! its 4.00am in Moscow. In hotel lobby watching Kiev vids crying with happiness 4 Adam & watching the dawn arrive right now #somuchbeautyEventually, I made myself go back to bed. Vesna was still sleeping and I crashed for a few more hours. When we woke up, Ves said “are there any vids yet?” and I pole vaulted onto her bed burbling insanely. The two of us sat there watching the vids like a couple of school girls awwwing and ahhhing and clutching each other with emotional overload and pride. Who is this young man that can turn grown women into mush whilst watching an iPad screen in a hotel room on the other side of the world??? Seriously! to be continued...

Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Catz,
I can't wait to read the rest of your amazing journey.
Bleh, on Nick Jonas.
Mys*&@^#r,
I think the interview you are looking for is in print and not video. I think it was from a UK publication.
