Has anyone seen this? This doesn't look good for Adam. Nick Jonas þ@nickjonas The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol I don't see them signing both Nick and Adam. I don't think he's supposed to talk about it, in a confirming way, if he's being considered. It's supposed to be a secret. This kind of makes me thhink he didn't get it and just pimping himself for the PR coverage now. nica, When did Adam say "talks were alive?" I have seen all the interviews but do to remember that one. He has never confirmed the rumor, just that it was a beautiful rumor and it was a conversation he would like to have. He told the End Fest DJ that there was still specualtion and said the Twitter rumors hadn't gone away. But he has not confirmed anything. I don't think any of the serious candidates are allowed to.

I mentioned yesterday that I had learned a lot here about many subjects I never thought I'd be interested in. : Today I have questions about remixes. TBH, before Adam I'd never heard of a remix. Does just anyone who wants to do a remix of a song? How does the remixer get just the vocal track? Is there equipment available to separate all the tracks? Does the artist/label approach the remixer or vice versa? If the artist or label dislikes the remix does he have any recourse? What are the copyright guidelines for this sort of thing? Are the remixes used mostly in dance clubs by DJs or by the general public? Are they available just as digital downloads? The NCOE remix Adam linked had a message at the site saying downloads were not permitted, but what is the real practice? Well, you can see I am coming from a place of total ignorance. If someone has an article that covers this, I'd love it. Geez, I sound like a five year old who won't stop asking questions! ;D I will forward your questions to my son, who has done quite a few remixes like this. He is playing a show in Columbia right now and won't be back until Wednesday, so I might not hear from him until then. I can answer a few questions, but I think he will do a much more thorough and accurate job, lol. I can tell you that the artist/label approaches the remixer to do a remix and a flat fee is paid up front for the remix. Usually an artist/label have a few different people remix a single to appeal to different kinds of audiences. You can purchase remixes on beatport and sometimes on iTunes. Djs in clubs include remixes on their mix tapes. As far as vocal tracks, the remixer receives everything he needs and basically reproduces the track using some or part of the vocals. Sometimes a remix my son does will sound entirely different than the original song, thereby appealing to an entirely different market. My son does remixes more rarely now; he says he often feels like he'd rather keep what he comes up with in a remix for his own songs, ones he has a chance of earning royalties on. Now he only does remixes if the money is especially good or if there is something really creatively inspiring about the track or the artist. His latest remix was for the new Gossip single. I hope this answers some of your questions. I will email him your list and post his responses.

publicity is publicity at any cost...nica, When did Adam say "talks were alive?" I have seen all the interviews but do to remember that one. My take on this is exactly the same as your Mys*&@^#r50 -- Nick Jonas would only have confirmed this if he did not get it and has nothing to lose by breaching confidentiality. >> With this tweet I think the odds have gone up slightly for Adam. Adam never said he was is talks with Idol, although seems like the leak in the UK came from his PR people. And he never denied it.

I came here to see if this was posted yet. I THOUGHT NOTHING WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN THIS WEEKEND!!! Lots of speculation on twitter. He probably wouldn't have said this unless it was pretty certain - otherwise he'd look pretty silly.. And no way will Adam & NJ both be judges. I'm trying not to say too much now til I get my emotions under control. And until things are certain. so how is this different from Adam saying the same thing? and Adam DID say that the talks were alive....publicity is publicity at any cost... and yes, as i said million times - there will be no two white dudes on that panel IMO... on another topic - I find it interesting that Brian's letter went from talking about Adam to Olympics mental prep without any mention of JJ.... Adam didn't say the same thing. He said that was the first he had heard of the rumor but that he would be honored to be on the judges panel - or something similar.
