It's sad!! I don't know what the labels are going to do. But I do know that Adam is doing the right thing by "diversifying!" The money will be in concerts for artists now, not albums! If he is well known for great live shows, he can make lots of $$$$ that way! A plan of big shows with Queen that will really bring in the $$, and then his own tour in mid size venues will be just perfect! Very few stars have successful arena tours. Adam can get that with Queen. I remember a while back, Q3 said that mid size venues are the most profitable for an artist. Small venues don't bring in enough $$. Arena shows are too expensive to put on. Mid-size, 3-7K are perfect. I have no doubt that Adam can fill those size venues for his own tour!

OT - Delete if too much so Daughtry played Musikfest Sat night. Sold 6500 of 7500 capacity to make him highest seller of the fest. No sellouts. Point is, he sold same as Adam did 2 years ago but smaller venue then & was 6500 capacity so Adam may have been able to sell more if available. Daughtry's album has gone gold though & sadly TSP is nowhere near that and may never get there without something big happening. BTW - John Moser (remember him?) gave D. a mixed review. First half "generic Idol-ish faux rock" but second half better. And none of this is relevant but things are .................??? right now.

PA seems to be an Idol friendly area. He was certified gold way early on albums shipped. He wasn't even close to 500K at the time. I can't find updated figures for him yet but I am pretty sure he has not sold gold yet. I'll ask at MJ's. I'm sure someone will know.

On June 22 at Pulse According to Idol Chatter- the latest total sales figure for BTS album is at 451,000 (rounded). It sold about 2,000 (rounded) last week.

So I doubt if it's reached 500K yet.

Just a quick drive-by post (School is in now & I'll have to really try squeezing my "Adam time" in, too.)
To be fair to RiRi, this is her 38th week on the UK official album chart.
As for Asian album sales, Japan is the only major int'l market and the only one that has somewhat extensive & solid tracking bodies: Oricon & Billboard Japan, which I'm looking forward to checking the stats this Wed. & the following weeks. Asian musicians don't make money off their album/single sales but concerts and other ventures. Piracy is a huuuuuge problem in Asia, especially in China, and it's not gonna go away any time soon. Sony/RCA would be the only one that would have actual sales figures for TSP in those regions, based on their wholesale shipment.
Adam is very popular in those regions, which is why he's one of the headliners at Sonic and which is why he's rumored to be among those big names (Katy Perry, Bieber, Maroon 5, Kanye, etc.) to have concerts in China in 2013, despite his non-skyrocketing album sales, so far, and despite without a "universal" hit single! Actually, their music taste are slightly different from other regions, for example, they love TFM and FYE (the song)!
LOL at myself, okay, this "drive-by" is getting out of hand, gotta go now! ;D

So I doubt if it's reached 500K yet. Moser stated in his article that the album sold over 600K. And we KNOW how reliable he is. Probably got the figures from Daughtry's people though.

The poor album sales for Trespassing only really concern me in terms of Adam being able to stay with a major label and being able to continue to put out music. Or, maybe I should say being able to make the album that he wants with all the big name writers and producers. It is so difficult to sell an album without a hit single, and it is near impossible to to get a hit single without radio support. I just want RCA to stick with him even though sales are rough and radio uncooperative.
eta---I am pretty sure that Daughtry's latest has gone gold, but not by much. Sadly, I don't think Trespassing is going to get there.

It's not about RiRi it's about NOBODY sold over 10,000 this week. Sales are in the tank no matter who you are.
