So I doubt if it's reached 500K yet. Moser stated in his article that the album sold over 600K. And we KNOW how reliable he is. Probably got the figures from Daughtry's people though. If the figure from end of June is correct and it has not been on the BB 200 for quite a while, that would be impossible. Unless he is estimating international numbers. I think Daughtry sells in Canada and maybe the Phillipines?

The poor album sales for Trespassing only really concern me in terms of Adam being able to stay with a major label and being able to continue to put out music. Or, maybe I should say being able to make the album that he wants with all the big name writers and producers. It is so difficult to sell an album without a hit single, and it is near impossible to to get a hit single without radio support. I just want RCA to stick with him even though sales are rough and radio uncooperative. eta---I am pretty sure that Daughtry's latest has gone gold, but not by much. Sadly, I don't think Trespassing is going to get there. Really? I wouldn't care if Adam switched labels one bit! And if he and RCA parted ways, I have absolutely no doubt that another major label would snatch him up!

To be fair to RiRi, this is her 38th week on the UK official album chart.
It's not about RiRi it's about NOBODY sold over 10,000 this week. Sales are in the tank no matter who you are.
Agreed album sales are in the tank for just about everyone but considering this is RiRi's 38th week on the chart, that's actually pretty impressive!
No debut album made it to the UK Top 40 Albums Chart, the highest position for a debut this week is "Cut the World" at #41.
TSP & NCOE both out of New Zealand Top 40 this week, and ARIA Top 50 as well. Hopefully, Adam's promo trip will spike things up down under.

mys*&@^#r, I'm afraid SONY/RCA's got an iron claw on Adam, seriously doubt any labels would be able to get their hands on Adam, evah! Otherwise, Interscope would be purring "come to Papa, Adam!" the minute he's being released from RCA. An artist can make a genius album, but still not be heard by the world if the label failed its job! I confess I've 'secretly" wished Adam got "traded" (ya know like in NBA, ;D) over to Interscope thru some deals between labels...I know, pure fantasy.

True! But if RCA and he couldn't negotiate the terms of his next album, they would release him. I'm not saying it will or even should happen. I am giving them one more chance. If they don't do it right with this next single and get this amazing criticlly acclaimed album back on track then they will be on my shit list permanently! ;D

All I care about is that he is able to stay with a major label. RCA or not.

... he's rumored to be among those big names (Katy Perry, Bieber, Maroon 5, Kanye, etc.) to have concerts in China in 2013, Just curious about this - can you elaborate on the origin of the rumour? Apologies if I've missed something along the way. Thanks. ETA - I always read this thread and appreciate everyone's expertise on this aspect of things, even though I haven't any myself.

I'm no expert at Idol so do correct me if I'm wrong. I recall reading somewhere that when it comes to Idol contracts, the label gets to exercise the option when & how they decide to drop you, but the artist don't get the option to leave the label until fulfillment of their contracts (3 albums or 5 albums, believe Adam is the latter), of course unless the label wants you out.

Or another label or the artist can negotiate a buyout. ;D But Adam seems very happy with RCA.
