Wow, that was about as close to a denial as you can get without totally crushing fans' spirits. I am now thinking Idol isn't on the table. LOL, or it's the response of someone who fears they said too much under a gag order. All in your perspective. Bottom line: Adam had every opportunity in the world to outright deny – WITHOUT BEING CRYPTIC – tonight. He did NOT take it. He could have put all speculation, angst, questions, unknowing dead to rest. He didn't. It's not about not wanting to thwart the PR value of speculation – that's been done. It would be time to move on. No new articles are being generated because he has been mentioned as a possible Idol judge. They haven't for weeks. (Yes, I know they have been footnoted in articles about his hair, but another issue entirely.) Those who want to see the downside will see the downside. Those who want to see the reverse will do that too. We're at an impasse at this point, but hopefully, we'll find out soon enough.

Q3:
I said in my post - quote:
'I think he was a preferred choice since months and a couple of weeks ago when they were flying people to LA for talks, they were just bringing the whole panel together to do a final determination along the lines of...how do these people work together on a panel, how is the chemistry, is everything working as expected.'
Did not say, they had a signed agreement months ago, I would doubt that too.
But the last couple of weeks, yes, I did believe that it was a done deal. Now with the new tweets, we obviously are less certain, but I also think he did not deny it, just corrected the perception on his wording from the morning.....
Hope that makes it a bit clearer, sorry for any confusion about what I said or meant to say.

I don't know, but to outright deny it ends the press and speculation completely. Done. And, maybe he didn't want to deal with fan drama/disappointment.
I still have a little hope, but this doesn't sound very promising, IMO.

I think, if RCA is smart (major IF), then they release cuckoo now to tie into the AI announcements, the PLL crazy train topic, halloween and the new TV season schedule with regular regular promotion. And then once Pharrell has been introduced and he and Adam had TV face time together in front of audiences (January), then use Trespassing and introduce the storyline of producer and singer songwriter team together on idol. Right now in the fall, given that Pharrell is not a household name, I think this story would be wasted on the public, tbh. I posted a similar thought earlier this morning. I think "Trespassing" would be much more potent as a single after audiences get to see Adam and Pharrell interact since their connection has little meaning to the public now. The "Trespassing" message is perfect for Adam and the Idol judging and radio situation, though, and also makes a good anthem for the contestants. I just think "Cuckoo" stands on its own as a better breakthrough single leading into Idol. My hopes for "Cuckoo" were dampened by the emphasis on "Trespassing" in Tokyo today. (I'm clinging to the hair as a sign that "Cuckoo" might have a chance.) But I'll be happy whichever single they pick and I think they can make the narrative work with either song.

Well, I'm still hoping given there was no outright denial. I will be thrilled for him if he gets it, and if he doesn't, I will be fine and Adam will be fine as well.

Adam influenced two decisions for me today. First, started shopping for a new TV. The salesman was very informed and very helpful. When it came down to making the choice, I readily considered his recommendation based on the his name which, of course, was ADAM. I took it as a good sign. Secondly, went to buy a ladder. Couldn't decide between the 7 foot or the 8 foot model. Climbed up on the 8 foot and BTIKM started playing in the store. Another sign! Chose the 8 foot. At this point, my hubby exclaims, "Looks like the 8 foot, Adam is sending you another signal." I guess I'm more obvious then I think I am. I heard BTIKM in Staples today!

How many times was the Queen rumor cryptically, or otherwise, denied? A few, IIRC. Thing is, people in the midst of legal negotiations or under contract cannot always speak at will. People who are not, can. Being in media, I know the value of PR all too well – I get at least 100 pitches a day looking for even tiniest media mentions. However, my gut is that ANY value the rumor has had long since worn out its welcome. Adam has little problem generating headlines. Hell, he can just frost his tips and it will be an entire press cycle. Punch a ceiling? STOP THE PRESSES!!! Again, only my gut, but this media coverage is not enough for him to continue to string on the rumor. However, if he was in a position where he could not say anything, he would do his best to backpedal and tap dance around the issue. ETA: Oh wait!!! I just had an INSPIRED idea!! If all this PR is worth it, here's what Adam ought to do ... ( disclaimer: that's a catchprase for useless, unsolicited advice to follow ) He should parlay his entire PR budget on one 15-second commercial on the Olympics where he makes out with Sauli (in prime time) and then wrestles a beach pap to the ground for filming it. A horrified Gaga looks on (green screened, of course ...) *cut away to mutilated cupcakes and ceiling tiles* Make sure Finnish media picks it up first. It's GOLD, I tell ya!!
