Q3: I said in my post - quote: 'I think he was a preferred choice since months and a couple of weeks ago when they were flying people to LA for talks, they were just bringing the whole panel together to do a final determination along the lines of...how do these people work together on a panel, how is the chemistry, is everything working as expected.' Did not say, they had a signed agreement months ago, I would doubt that too. But the last couple of weeks, yes, I did believe that it was a done deal. Now with the new tweets, we obviously are less certain, but I also think he did not deny it, just corrected the perception on his wording from the morning..... Hope that makes it a bit clearer, sorry for any confusion about what I said or meant to say. Makes some sense but I still see no evidence that Adam and Idol have been talking for months. In any case, there is not a celebrity on the planet that hasn't been in an Idol judges rumor at least once. Remember when Posh Spice was going to replace Paula forever? Or this one... Feb 8, 2010 ... Chris Isaak and Jessica Simpson are among the names that have been rumored as possible new judges for the next season of "American Idol. ... or this one... February 09, 2010 11:38 AM BILLBOARD.COM Howard Stern told his satellite radio listeners Monday morning that the rumor is true: “American Idol” producers are, in fact, considering him to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on the show. What’s more, he’s tempted to take the job and leave his Sirius XM show behind. “I’ll do that for $100 million.” Stern said. “For $100 million a year, to judge a karaoke contest? OK. Why not? -- Idol has been doing this judge PR thing since 2007.

But why didn't he flat out deny it? There were tons of questions specifically about Idol tweeted to him. I dunno, maybe the people who were considered but didn't get it are not allowed to say anything until after it's announced? Some people think Nick didn't get it but he didn't outright say he didn't get it. Or maybe Adam wants the speculation still there as it keeps people talking about him? I am not sure if any one asked Nick about it so he could deny. But I am sure many fans have asked Adam about this, I am one of them, and I see many others too. If Adam keeps quiet about it like this, only fans speculate and talk about it, there is no press. But if he denies it, the press will pick up the story and talk about it. So denial is more beneficial for Adam ans AI in terms of exposure. He chose not to...which means....

Adam isn't being mentioned that much anymore, it's all Pharrell and Jonas so I see no reason for him to not do rumor conttrol. ETA: LOL! Susie is me, I am Susie! The truth finally comes out1 Is there someone who was considered, really wanted it bad, but didn't get it and announced they didn't get it? I only heard of those who were considered but rejected it, like Pink and Katy Perry.

How many times was the Queen rumor cryptically, or otherwise, denied? A few, IIRC. Thing is, people in the midst of legal negotiations or under contract cannot always speak at will. People who are not, can. Being in media, I know the value of PR all too well – I get at least 100 pitches a day looking for even tiniest media mentions. However, my gut is that ANY value the rumor has had long since worn out its welcome. Adam has little problem generating headlines. Hell, he can just frost his tips and it will be an entire press cycle. Punch a ceiling? STOP THE PRESSES!!! Again, only my gut, but this media coverage is not enough for him to continue to string on the rumor. However, if he was in a position where he could not say anything, he would do his best to backpedal and tap dance around the issue. ITA -- it was another non-denial. Similar to what happened with Queen. And not at all like how he handled the Olympics rumors. He just laughed at that one and said no, And, if he did not get it, there are a number of ways he could preclude Idol by mentioning Idol. For example, he could reveal anything he was doing in September that was not Idol. The schedule remains empty. Zip, Nada, I do not recall this since the Idol final -- 6 weeks and nothing.

Alanis Morissette told Las Vegas CBS radio station Mix 94.1 that she is in talks to take on "American Idol" for the show's upcoming 12th season. And she was positive about it. According to The New York Post, Sean "Diddy" Combs is in talks to join the singing competition show as well. Nick Jonas says he is in the running to judge "Idol". Randy wants to be a judge, but looking dim for him. Brad Paisley, Pharrell Williams and Adam have been mentioned by associates and sources. Oh and everyone in Nashville is talking to Idol. I think there will be 8 judges!! **** Corrected by Q3 ****

I don't know, but to outright deny it ends the press and speculation completely. Done. And, maybe he didn't want to deal with fan drama/disappointment. I still have a little hope, but this doesn't sound very promising, IMO. My husband thinks that a smart person who wanted the job would never outright deny a rumor like that even if he didn't have the job until it was absolutely certain that someone else did.

We do not know who is really being considered. The only person who said he was in talks and wanted it is Nick Jonas on Twitter. All the others, including Adam, have be from "sources". Yup!!! All were ~sources close to the artist or Idol or Fox ... NONE have been from the prospective candidate themselves, except N. Jonas, which is why I've always thought his involvement a total smokescreen all along. If it IS him and A is out, welp, I'll say it right now: I blew it and was wrong. wrong. wrong.

I am still wondering what the label is going to do to promote the new single. Appearance on PLL is great, but I still think it's not enough. We are not sure which "stuff" Adam is going to work on in September. If it is the AI gig, it doesn't help promoting the new single because AI is not aired in September. Without strong promotion I am worried for the new single's success. Fans have already bought the CD with the song. The number of fans who will buy the new single will be a lot less. Therefore, the sales of the new single will depend heavily on casual fans who don't own the CD yet, just hear the song and like it, BUT they need to know about the song first. The radio will not be on board with this single until they see significant sales. So the label has to find a different routes to reach the casual fans of the new single, TV performance is only one of them. We haven't heard anything about these

There are a few more. I correct my post above. Idol seems to be doing a PR stunt with this to get thru the Olympics and then announce. I really want them to decide soon, almost as much as I want this for Adam. << The thing that I cannot get past is Adam's calendar. >> << New single, no promo is just a ?? for me. >>
