I have just gotten here -- but I have been thinking about all the bits of info we have and Idol. 1. There are a lot of people who seem to be in line to be Idol judges - Pharrell, Nick Jonas (I think/hope not), Alanis Morresette, P. Ditty, Brad Paisley, more people from Nashville (no ID), Adam and I am sure there are others I forgot. Plus, Mariah. 2. Randy did an interview with a Las Vegas radio station on 8/10/12 where he seemed to NOT know what was going on. 3. FOX execs have said they will be changing up the show. 4. We have a bunch of hints, clues and whiffs of into that Adam and Pharrell will be busy in September. WHAT IF..... Fox is going to have a set of judges for September, and a difference set of judges for the main rounds. That would mean that they could have a broader range of judges, make the show more interesting. It would minimize the risk of new judges messing up the ratings. If also would be new and different without really screwing up what made the show a hit. The contestants. And finally, it give them a chance to see if they have any judges who rise to the top -- add a judges bench. >> Just a thought. Not based on anything. But I would like it because I could have my cake and eat it too. Adam on Idol -- but then free to tour next year with Queen (mini world tour) and for Trespassing (when the time in right). << But if Adam only does the audition rounds he won't be there to perform more than once and premiere a new video. When they say they are changing it up, I don't think they are thinking of big changes. They still get 18 million viewers and to change it too much would b a mistake IMO. I think the 2 things they need to do is 1) Take away the instruments 2) Change the voting & elimination procedure.

Adam started following a whole bunch of people today. Tom Daley @tomdaley1994I'm not a swimmer! I'm a diver!!! Haha This is random. I wonder if Adam has an Olympic crush on Tom Daly, like my DD now has? lol Tom Daly is a cutie! LOL, sorry, but this just made me think of this, from Michelle Collins: Moving on to the important things. For example, did you know that every single gay guy I associate with (picture the entire audience of the Clarkson concert to give you a working number) would give up almost everything for a chance to “synchronize dive” with Tom Daley?
Which is kind of a weird thing, because this barely legal athlete looks like a child, albeit one with a few dozen shark abs. Daley is clearly adorable, but when my first instinct is to breastfeed him in the most non-sexual of ways, there should be a “Virgin Alarm” warning to all of you to take 15 steps off of a platform diving board and directly into an ice cube bath. ... The Brits came in fourth tonight and sadly didn’t medal. Young Daley, if you need some comforting, I know about 48 dudes who’d like to put you in a Baby Bjorn and run errands at Target with you for hours. (That’s code for an unprintable gay sex position, FYI. [So is “FYI.”]) www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2012/07/2012-summer-olympics-day-three-recap-missy-franklin-gold ;D Must admit I've been enjoying Miss Collins' olympic recaps quite a bit. Thanks to the atopper (sorry, can't remember who now) who tipped us off to them... ETA: in other Olympic diving news, y'all shoulda seen me try to explain away my excited "Oh, Matthew Mitcham!" to my my husband when the Aussie diver appeared on the platform yesterday, without fessing up to only knowing who the dude is because Adam tried to snog him at a concert in Sydney and he politely declined

Ok, I am only now reading ALL the tweets from Adam last night. I didn't now that he actually said, "that Japenese quote was way lost in translation..." Suddenly, my optimism is shot. Is this an outright denial of the Idol job? How are you guys interpreting this? I am really trying to hang on to hope here. He said it was lost in translation but he did not say what he said. He left it clear as mud. Basically, he said -- something is happening in September (STUFF) but I am not ready to say what.

See, I don't think they need the type of continuity that Randy would bring. To me, he's become a joke, same old lines, anything new he DID say last year was pandering to the idea that these were the greatest contestants EVAH. I don't doubt that he is good at whatever his real job is, but I have always thought he was by far the weakest link on Idol. The last few years, since I've been DVRing rather than watching Idol, I learned to skip much of what he had to say, what all of them had to say, actually. I agree that they would be making a big mistake not to hire Adam, but I have no faith in their common sense nor that they have their finger on the pulse of the public. I agree about JH, over her huckster persona, and Melinda, cute as she is, just isn't ready for prime time. Idol needs pizazz, personality, knowledge, and honesty delivered with class and articulation. I don't think Mariah has what it takes, but $18mil says TPTB disagree with my assessment. If Pharrell is there, he will be a little quieter, more technical, I think. To me, Adam and Brad Paisley are perfect. Their knowledge of the industry and likeability quotients are off the charts.

I don't know if this is old news..if so please scroll. Just read in the USA weekend magazine, that Joe Jonas is joiningGloria Estefan,John Rich and Nelly on new CW show..' Fame Is At Your Doorstep'. Singers live with a contestant for 72 hours and prepare him or her for a record deal...
Geez what's next? It's not like there is much left to the record business and more and more of these reality talent shows are churning out singers.. YEEK what's left ?

I know nothing from nothing but could the hold on info have something to do with Ryan. I heard where Ryan is trying to buy Dick Clark Productions. CBS is also trying and the sale will be concluded Aug. 31. in.reuters.com/article/2012/08/11/cbs-dickclark-idINDEE87A01R20120811Like I said I don't know what this might have to do with the price of gold other that the timing. A few months ago I told you about finding a Morroccan - Argan Oil and a whole line of hair products with Morroccan Oil in it. Made by Organix. Very Inexpensive. Just to let you know that I love it. I am getting ready to purchase my second bottle of Shampoo. For me that is a big step. I never make it through a whole bottle of the same shampoo.

My personal take on it is that the press has gotten very lazy lately and has taken to routinely picking up on fan speculation for stories because they know Adam stories get hits. Once that one story surfaced Adam decided to remind the press that fan speculation is just a step removed from fantasy. Hence starting out by talking about the cray fantasy delusion reference then moving on to lost in translation reference then a series of non-denial denials. Then to cap it all off he wraps up with a tweet of a picture of him on the set of (wait for it) Pretty Little Liars. Didn't he also use that in that Sacremento interview when he finished with a smirk at the camera and the statement "And maybe I'm being a Pretty Little Liar about it".
I think he knows good and well the fans have it figured out and will know he didn't REALLY deny anything but the press will look at it and maybe think twice about picking up on fan speculation and running with it.

This is going to start off negative and end positive. Honestly, with the stats for the album and singles so far, it should be surprising that there is another single being released. However, Adam has been so positive and is still positive that there will be even more after this 3rd one! Why? He knows something we don't (obviously!) And it has to be something big! Oh, and please, No Randy!! Ryan is the glue, not Randy! Gawd, I hope Randy is gone!

Hmm, Q3, interesting thought, but I can't imagine this at all. For a huge show such as Idol to do a dramatic makeover at this point, they need to commit to the new format and sell the new concept HARD. Branding. Branding. Branding. To have a mishmash of judges would be disjointed and wishy washy at this point. These are the people who are the main cast of your show. Look at the way "The Voice" packages their judges? The commercials have been on constantly throughout the Olympics – They ARE the brand. They are the show. They aren't selling the mystery of finding a new artist or showing possible contestants or even the chair thing. The advertising has been all about this unit of judges and THAT'S why people should watch. The judges are more consistent than the contestants (who come and go and haven't been chosen) so that's why they're the anchor for the show. Ryan's schedule isn't going to allow him to carry this on his back. A strong, compelling team of judges will be their best sell, IMO. I was not trying to figure out how to fix Idol -- not sure it can be done. I was just reading what Kevin Reilly and Nigel have said to the press and listened to the entire TV Critics press conference. They do not appear to be making dramatic changes to Idol but the are going to evolve the show, blah. blah, blah. For example, Nigel is staying. There just seem to be a lot of people on this judge list. And there is a mention of a new role for Randy who said he did not know what his role with Idol would be on 8.10.12. ETA: Ryan is not going anywhere -- FOX pays him $35 million. If he buys controlling interest in DCP, he will still do Idol. Reuters broke the news about Ryans interest in bidding for DCP in January 2012; CBS is the new player. www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/sns-rt-us-cbs-dickclarkbre87a01l-20120810,0,7397419.story
