Adam did give the answer "not that I know of" when asked if there was a "special job in September". That has me thinking the Idol job isn't in any way locked down OR it could be that it never really was a huge possibility. Adam did say weeks ago that no one had talked to him about the job. I doubt he was lying then. Someone could have talked to him since then, or we could have been spinning our wheels for weeks- who knows? LOL :D The day he denied it was like an hour after the first story came out. I'm sure he hadn't been approached at that point. A LOT of time has passed since the day of the Capital Radio interview. After his impromptu "job interview" he did in Sacramento, he has either said nothing or been expertly evasive at dodging any and all Idol questions. There is no reason to do this other than if you are in negotiations or under a gag order. He denied Sonisphere the day before it was confirmed, remember? Honest people who are put into a position where they have to lie often have a difficult time with it and his non-denial denial was awkward and ambiguous at best. If he meant it to be a denial, hundreds of people asked him seconds later during the Twitter party point blank if that is what he meant. He knew very well his statement was "clear as mud" as Q3 said, yet he again chose not to clarify. If he's not part of Idol, he would very likely know that by now and he could easily refocus all attention back on single with one simple statement. OR you aren't in any kind of talks, but would like to be! (sending it out to the universe) Or you know that free press is free press! Or it is a "beautiful rumor", which were Adam's exact words. This all kind of reminds me of the speculation that went on for months and months about The Olympics. No matter what Adam said or what the Olympic committee said, fans still "knew Adam would be performing". I also want the Idol rumors to be true, but it is still just speculation at this point based on fans trying to interpret what Adam did or didn't mean. The fans have been WAY OFF as many times as they have been ON with their wild speculations over the years. I'm HOPING for a positive outcome, but I won't be surprised if it he doesn't get the position. I'll be beyond thrilled if it happens, but won't be shocked, upset and gutted if it doesn't happen.

I will be totally shocked if Bowie sings today. That rumor has been flying around for a couple of weeks. Many people would be pleased to see him, including me. When did he last perform live? Seems like it's been years Last concert was in 2004, the tour was cut short when he had a massive heart attack. His last public performance was in 2006...."performed a mini-set at the annual BlackBall charity concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Opening with his famous cover of "Wild Is The Wind" with Spiders From Mars keyboardist Mike Garson, Bowie then performed the Lodger classic "Fantastic Voyage" and closed with "Changes" by performing it as a duet with Alicia Keys. Since then, Bowie hasn't sung so much as a note in public." Read more: www.rollingstone.com/music/news/when-will-david-bowie-return-to-the-stage-20101109#ixzz23MLID7vuChanges with Alicia Keys (2006)

I think Adam knows Atopers too well. Spectulation is part of the fun here, so why kills the joy.
"beautiful rumor" is not a bad thing for fandom to keep hopes up. Time will tell. i guess i get used to soon-ish and patience from him.

Which continent do you think Sauli is traveling to? And when? Just trying to stay positive about Idol and think about something else🎵🎵🎵

If we are going to speculate, then why not speculate about the "beautiful rumors".

I have been spending too much time ruminating about Adam's new single, tour, and career in general and why I think something really big is on the horizon.
I know that in May RCA told BB that it planed to release several singles from T, but that was before the two first singles went nowhere in sales or airplay, and the album quickly slid of BB200. Companies change their plans all the time in response to sales data. I remember when RCA Ed explained to fans that it was too costly to release fourth single from FYE. If they didn't want to release another single from a fairly successful album, why on earth would they release one from an album with poor sales? The only answer that makes sense is they are confident that something is going to sharply force the sales curve up.
Adam has said that he will tour T when the "time is right". To me that implied when the album sales were good enough to support the kind of tour he wants with mid sized venues and lots of new fans in the audience. Again something big enough to drastically change sales would make sense.
A few days ago someone tweeted that Queen was looking for venues for a world tour. Someone tweeted but not with AL this time. I know this one is very flimsy, but if true why would Adam not be included in a tour when Queen obviously loved working with him. Only something very big in Adam's professional life could keep him from a Queen tour.
Now things big enough to change the sales trajectory of Trespassing now that it is off the BB200 are limited. Performances on TV talk shows and even cameos on dramas only give small, temporary bumps. Things that have more power are lots a radio play, and perhaps RCA has a firm commitment from Z100, KISS etc to put the new single on super heavy rotation. I can see having a song in a very popular movie as being powerful promo or maybe even an acting role in a popular film. Then of course, there is being a judge on Idol my fingers crossed option.

I do get the Olympics parallel to a degree, but I don't exactly agree that it is quite the same analogy.
I don't know anyone that was "sure" by any means. We had hope, yes, because there was enough uncertainty in that no one had heard a definitive declaration of what the London Olympic committee was considering a national of Great Britain. Was it enough that the band/choir/dance troupe/orchestra be UK-based or did every member have to be a citizen of the UK as well?
And how tightly were they going to enforce this rule? Maybe it would have been different if Adam was an actual member of Queen and not a guest performer, I don't know. If a member of MUSE was from Germany would he need to be replaced? There is a lot of ambiguity there. Now that the Olympics have been going on, we know that the UK has been very strict about the ~national rule.
Prior to the Opening Ceremonies, the planning was shrouded in secrecy and since we didn't know anything, there was still hope they might find a loophole in the rule or that Brian and Roger could ask and then the committee would approve or deny. Adam left himself a loophole by saying, "You have to be British, I think."
Did Brian and Roger even ask or did they just go ahead and make arrangements for a British singer? Who knows, but once it was evident Jessie J. was performing, most people I know just said, "Aww, oh well ..."

Hi. Could someone please direct me to Catz's last episode a couple days ago. I didn't have time to read it then & now cannot find it. Also, just where are all her trip postings placed? I think it has been said that they were all going to be in one place for saving forever. Thanks.

He said it was lost in translation but he did not say what he said. He left it clear as mud. Basically, he said -- something is happening in September (STUFF) but I am not ready to say what. Does anyone else think that Adam got the phrase "lost in Translation" from Atop ? That phrase was used often yesterday here but I didn't see it used so much on twitter? Just a thought. Adam lurking , I mean reading here? I think Adam got the phrase from where I got it.. a movie "Lost In Translation"
