Wow. I have been a long time Queen fan. I really thought Brian May was an evolved human. Count me out of his cool club. Curves, castrato perfection, pop voice that sounds like a built in auto-tune, young worker bee. She's making Adam out to be slickly perfect (product of the machine). Where as Brian and Roger are perfect in their unique, beautiful, nuanced imperfection, the mark of true artists. That is just bullshit. Servants of the status quo, playing it safe, lacking the courage to break down the fucking walls! Do you not see what you are doing? Than quote (highlighted) reminded me of another remark Brian made about not being internally prepared for the emotion Adam showed when he first sang WWTLF for him. Don't know exactly where that quote is, but that, as well as the obviouse mutual admiration shown on stage makes me feel it is all very real. While I did not enjoy some of the words used and the implication you have to lose your balls to sing like that, it is really a matter of POV what it all means in the end. Looks like Brian May felt it was a positive reviews. You thought it wasn't. I personally think it was a positive review of the concert, and a mostly positive review of Adam from someone who does not care for pop idol products. The one thing that balanced it out for me was the part that I always agreed with - Freddie could NOT sing live as well as Adam does, and when a Queen fan admits that, I am in my happy corner. Freddie had the stage presence and crowd control magic and the charisma, but technically I prefer listening to the QAL concerts because they are mostly vocal perfection, and I like perfection. And then there was something said during the short interview Brian and Roger gave when arriving in Russia. I think many missed it because it was covered by the Russian voice-over. In short, Brian said about Adam " Frankly, I have never heard such a voice in my life". This coming from one of Freddie's closest friends meant a lot to me... ;D My 2 cents, YMMV. That quote (highlighted) reminded me of another comment by Brian, saying he was not internally ready for the emotional intensity that Adam showed when he first sang WWTLF for him. (Sorry, don't know how to find that quote.) That, together with the mutual admiration shown on stage, tells me it's all very real.

What am I missing? Did Adam actually say that he was never approached by Idol? Is this recent? I really don't think he has it, but if he actually came out and said this then it would seem Idol wasn't ever in play. In any event, Idol must have picked the judges by now. I think it might be too late to worry about trying to trend something. I tend to think Adam isn't on Idol's list . After listening to the Aussie show and Adam's response for the 12th time. I think he would love it but it's not there for him.. As far as the empty calendar.. [/IMG]
I have to agree as painful as it is for me... and its not even the words he used ('I wasn't asked") but the tone... it was so flat, with no sparkle, or energy or any kind of upbeat curve that he usually has.. but then it could've been early in the morning or just tired... who knows... ...also - the Winstar sounds to me now like a concert related promise - so may be TP tour related... I mean he knows that they will be in the South.... I hope I am wrong but for now I give up on the AI issue and look forward to whatever else will happen in September. I am sure while the public calendar is empty - his "real" calendar is not.

Sometimes I just think Adam got lured into a trap with Queen. They are like a venus fly trap for lead singers...Predetermined that no one can live up. But here's some sugar. Come on in. Triangulation. And all the singers end up tarnished by the experience. Instead of flourishing for who they are. Instead of truly being set free. They are instead under the harshest judgement. All that can be felt is "Not Freddie." It truly is a human dynamics trap. Adam is worth more. can someone post the link to this review?? I'm sure it's somewhere in the thread but I can't find it. Thanks. Click to read:

The dragon jacket will spell a loud and bright FU to those that don't like that feminine side of Adam, to others it is brilliant gender-bending and entertaining mind-fuck and to others it will be the liberation of man into the gaudy plumage which is the birthright of his sex.I see what you did there, great job!

A couple of years ago ,he said he was flattered by Idol judge rumors ,but he wanted to concentrate on his career. I wonder what changed this year ? He now seems to want it. I would rather have Adam do the singing . I think if he was a judge, I would be Adam get up there and show them how to sing for god's sake.. LOL

No Angel I can respect that it makes no sense to you. However, what matters to me is that it makes perfect sense to me. I have no expectation that everything I say will make sense to the majority of people.
Adam is going to be better than fine no doubt. This is the way it all works. Adam is not niave. I have esteemed Brian highly. I confess that I had dreamed that he would be a true champion of and mentor-ish figure for Adam. It is through this lense that I view his behaviors. But as you say, it is not Brian running the twitter.

LOL What changed? 1) radio 2) A couple of years ago, being a judge probably didn't seem like a likely possibility. This time he was actually approached.
