So you guys haven't seen the article from some Hollywood blog that says in essence that the only thing keeping NJ from being announced is approval from Mariah? I can't link it right now as it was on twitter & I'm on my iPad. According to this MC is calling the shots for judges & NJ is the one. He is the only brother right now without a reality show. BIG FAT UGH if this is true!
Hi Jazzrocks, waves
Well all I can say is, if this is true, screw em. Adam will be just fine without this gig. I was undecided about AI but now I think it sounds like a bad idea. I want Adam to be happy, but this sounds like way too much BS, even for him. IMO.

I am skeptical of this Jonas story. The writer, Andy Swift, has a short track record, and rarely/never has a real scoop. He does not have any connections to Mariah or Nick Cannon that I can find. And no one from FOX would ever say it was up to Mariah (which I doubt is the case).
His source could be Nick Jonas who is actively working to get the Idol judge slot.
Oddly, he also wrote an Aug 6 article about Nick Jonas being an Idol judge that is gone now?

I don't think we can base anything about AI on what we heard today. There is no way Adam is going to give the scoop to some Aussie DJ's. I wish we could have seen his body language and not just heard him. What others heard as a sigh of disappointment I heard as him trying to figure out how to answer the question. A straight denial would have been easy but he hasn't done that. I'm not saying he has the gig but nothing today rules it out IMO. This was my impression as well, that he was hedging...trying to figure out how to answer the question. I think he may have been approached but doesn't know the outcome yet at this point.

I have no idea if that Hollywood blog is credible. My gut tells me "no." If it was Lyndsey or Shirley or Ann, different story. But, I can totally see Mariah as part of the approval process. Her reputation as a diva is legendary.

I read Adam's sigh at the AI question as...
"Oh shit, I'm going to have to answer this (unlike twitter which he could just ignore). So let me think here a second while I formulate an answer that doesn't give away the goods, which I'm already under contract not to do, and yet doesn't make me lie."
The "You'll know as soon as I know" is "When Idol announces it then I'll know that I'll be able to talk about it."
I think his answers in Japan have been interesting this week. He's twice talked about his honesty but he's never tied that in to his ability to bullshit either. Can you honestly bullshit?

There are 3 choices about today's interview:
1. Adam was lying and he is not talking to Idol.
2. Adam was lying and is talked to Idol and got it and was lying
3. Adam was telling the truth, he hasn't heard yet. It is still possible.
I go with #3. Adam rarely lies and he said they would be the first to know when he found out. Even on the rare times he has lied -- like Queen -- he never promised something he could not deliverl
I still have mixed feeling about this but if they hire Nick Jonas as the "kid" judge, I am not sure I wan Adam playing the role of rock judge.
Also, seems like there are too many people still. Nick, Pharrell, Brad, Alinas, Adam, and Mariah? And I'm sure there are more. Did I miss anyone who is still hanging. (Diddy said not him. If they get Pharrel, Randy is out.)
Adam is the only one who has any connection to rock music.

Has there been any positive press? Does anyone think this is a Fabulous idea?

If they are only having 3 judges, then it has to be Nick OR Adam. They will not have a panel of Mariah, Nick Jonas, and Adam. And they have to want someone like Pharrel on the panel. Four judges would give Adam a much better shot. I hate the idea of Nick Jonas on the panel with or without Adam. But, it would not surprise me at all. My daughter is watching Camp Rock on the Disney channel right this very minute.
