Can someone remind me how many singles GaGa released before one "hit" with a huge following.....I think it was 4 maybe 5. I still think PTL is the one that's going to blow the lid off. I really don't care if Adam wrote it or not. He's already received his critical acclaim -- now I just want the radio play. For some reason, radio play seems to be important for the next BIG step. Her first single was a #1 hit -- Just Dance was released in the US April 8, 2008, it first was a Dance Club hit (peaked at #2 on the Dance/Club Play chart August 2008. It then climbed up the Pop chart and was #1 on the BB Hot 100 on January 17, 2009. 10 months from release to a #1 BB Hot 100 hit. What made it finally climb the charts? |

I'll come up with it sooner or later. Actually, Gaga is very unusual. Having a #1 hit for a debut single is most often someone who is a "one hit wonder". Her next release was also #1 Poker Face. And she has one more #1 hit in the US Born This Way. Another artist who hat a #1 hit with her debut single is Katy Perry, also released in 2008. |
