MTV Buzzworthy BlogAdam Lambert Covers Bob Marley's 'Is This Love,' And DUH It's Incredible (VIDEO)Covering a Bob Marley song can be a dangerous and potentially tragic undertaking because, well, you are not Bob Marley. But -- surprise surprise -- Adam Lambert totally nailed it! Also, do you really think a dude who got a gigantic music-themed tattoo in Latin on his forearm is gonna mess up Marley cover? Prolly not because he's FOCUSED ON HIS CRAFT, to reference Tenacious D. The newly glammed-out Lambert stopped by the Take 40 Lounge in Australia to put his own spin on Marley's classic, "Is This Love." And it's BEYOND. Backed by his band, Adam slipped right into the reggae vibe and basically took the entire crowd on a mental vacation to somewhere tropical with unlimited umbrella drinks. While Adam paid his respects to the original melody, he still managed to infuse some of his pop inflections into Bob's laid-back jam. Balance is everything! Nicely done, Adam. Nicely done.

JP Newspaper Photo I did take this as an avi. If someone feels desperate about having it, I can be flexible. '' You perhaps should not talk about being "flexible" after posting a pic like that. People might take it the wrong way Love that pic!! I will say I'm really surprised that some seem offended by the butt game. I thought it was funny. I'm from the States and live in one of the U.S's top radio markets. My local DJ's pull stunts like that all the time. It's just meant for fun. It's all about getting Adam's name out there and creating brand recognition. Since Adam is a fairly new commodity he has to be a good sport about these things - which he is. Think of what people have to do on The Howard Stern Show.

4Music 4musicGlamberts get ready! @adamlambert covers Bob Marley's Is This Love? and it goes viral bit.ly/RGmIf9 Do you like? Thanks Wal! File under 'for what it's worth', but this is the first Adam vid I've tweeted/emailed since his acoustic FYE promo tour. I do a weekly arts/entertainment round up for a decent sized group and straight up pop isn't (no pun intended) too popular with most - anyway, I included the HQ vid of 'Is This Love' and am getting a surprisingly strong response incl some who are posting the vid on their FBs. (While most of these 'first wave' people are not going to be converted to Trespassing fans, this performance is putting Adam on their musical/pop culture radar so ...yay. I really hope he continues to add covers - esp genre breaking and/or more contemporary songs - YT is the medium these days.)

What I, however, get puzzled about is the differentiation between the covers Adam does and his own songs as far as the genre labeling is concerned. For instance I don't understand why this cover is "accepted" (aside from the Bob Marley name attached to it) and BTR is dismissed. Or why Dragon Attack and AOBTD is accepted (aside from Queen parentage) but TP is not. and on and on and on....
