hysterical that someone with Adam's money would wear t-shirts with holes in them. I think it is called Fashion! yes, that's what my daughter tells me when I try to throw out her favorite shirts ;D |

File under 'for what it's worth', but this is the first Adam vid I've tweeted/emailed since his acoustic FYE promo tour. I do a weekly arts/entertainment round up for a decent sized group and straight up pop isn't (no pun intended) too popular with most - anyway, I included the HQ vid of 'Is This Love' and am getting a surprisingly strong response incl some who are posting the vid on their FBs. (While most of these 'first wave' people are not going to be converted to Trespassing fans, this performance is putting Adam on their musical/pop culture radar so ...yay. I really hope he continues to add covers - esp genre breaking and/or more contemporary songs - YT is the medium these days.) Great story! This is why I said weeks ago that I wished Adam would do different covers during his radio shows and one offs. The videoes of artists doing covers often times make the rounds of media sites. If they are done well, which would always be the case with Adam,  they tend to get even more attention. Fans of the artist that was covered like to share the different version with other fans and their friends. Kelly Clarkson is a lot like Adam, in the fact that she can basically sing anything with very little prep time. She takes fan requests and does a different cover at every tour stop. Kelly has covered songs from Broadway, big band era, country, teen pop, classic and alt. rock, Disney, jazz and even rap! lol I would love to see Adam do something like this, because not only is it a treat for his fans, but it also brings attention to his vocals to new ears. |

I am sorta surprised fans are so "stingy" during Naked Love performances. Adam has clearly stated what he wants during the song. I fully intend to be prepared when Adam wants me to give back the naked love he has given me. Keep in mind, I am in my 40s, an understated woman who, regardless of whether she looses those extra15 lbs, isn't gonna change the damage done by carrying twins (each who weighted over 7lbs). So no, this is not like me. But Adam is just asking us to shed our armor and be comfortable in our own skin. So, everybody: I suggest you stop looking for the neon yellow shoes and go shopping for something like this. Imagine the beauty of a sea of joyful people waving their tops in the air to the "oh, oh, oh"s of Naked Love. The new Radio Gaga type fan participation. I think Adam would love it! What I, however, get puzzled about is the differentiation between the covers Adam does and his own songs as far as the genre labeling is concerned. For instance I don't understand why this cover is "accepted" (aside from the Bob Marley name attached to it) and BTR is dismissed. Or why Dragon Attack and AOBTD is accepted (aside from Queen parentage) but TP is not. and on and on and on.... It's simple, people that don't know Adam or care for Pop music in general have no reason to listen to a song from him. Listeners are introduced to new artists in different ways. Sometimes it is through an artist singing a cover from a band that they enjoy or a genre that they regularly listen to. Plus, people just love covers! Look at the Glee covers and how well they do on itunes! That's what American Idol is all about and people love it. They love to hear familiar songs done in different ways or with a different voices. |
