Call me Maybe is a great hit here in Germany also. But as soon as I hear it I have to change the radio station - I really think the lyrics are silly with no meaning and the music makes me cringe. I hope this is in no way the direction Adam wants to go with his music... ??? There are so many songs on the big radio stations here that are cool (Gotye, Gossip etc.) AND succesfull.
I know, to each his own, but music that is so lightweight that you forget the song as soon as you heard it is just awful (for me). Naked love is a little bit like that - that's the reason why I skip it every single time I listen to TP.

The remixes that were played during the Joy interview, please tell me they're available somewhere?

I believe the Keith Urban rumor. Yesterday, when I heard Keith's answer when he was asked about Idol in a recent interview his response made me think it's likely he'll be joining the panel. I don't have any experience reading Keith, like I do reading Adam after three years of following him, but Keith hedged in much the same way Adam does. It sounded to me like he truly enjoyed and appreciated his Australian The Voice experience and didn't want to make it seem like he's in a hurry to jump ship, especially when he was talking with a New Zealand radio station. But he said he'd "know within the next week or so" whether he would be doing The Voice or not. What will change between now and another week that he'll suddenly know whether things will work out for him to do The Voice, other than Idol judges will be announced? He'd be in a better position for releasing his upcoming album if he's seen on TV twice a week in a much larger market than he would if he stayed with The Voice in Australia. If he turned down the Idol offer, or it didn't work out, and he's now only trying to determine whether The Voice would fit in his recording schedule, why wouldn't he have just said so? And the comments by the Pepsi spokesperson and the fact that Nicki's canceled concerts and cleared her calendar tells me she's a done deal.
I think Idol's just trying to keep the pot stirred and maintain interest leading up to the announcement by throwing out names like Kanye. Or having Mariah suggest Lenny Kravitz. I think Mariah and Nicki are friendly, and that Nicki must have been signed shortly after Mariah. I don't think Mariah was unaware. I think Idol's just trying to create drama, and it might be easier to do between people who know it's not real and won't have true hurt feelings. But I personally think it would be way more interesting to see two women--who people might think have little in common--getting along and having fun on the panel, and dealing with real honest differences of opinions, than watching a manufactured catfight.
But, anyway, like I said the other day, I don't much care who all is on the panel with Adam, I'm just anxious for them to make the announcement already!
Also, the first time I saw the pro-shot Take 40 video I felt the same as those who prefer the first fan video. To me, the fan vid has a warmer, richer vocal tone and conveys so much joy.

I had my own tiny Adam Lambert experience today. Went to Home Depot to get copies of my car keys made. I had a key chain with Adam's pics on it, thanks to one of Mayumi's party favors. While the young guy was making the key he asked me if I was an Adam fan. I replied, "Yup, and you recognize that's Adam!" I said I was a vocalist and appreciated everything Adam could do with his voice. He agreed that Adam was a great singer. He said he no longer watches Idol since Adam's season. I told him that many folks were saying that Adam broke Idol, to which he agreed. Trying to keep it low key, I told him that Adam was/is being considered for a judge slot and that many were saying "He broke it, he should be the one to fix it." The guy laughed at that. The keys made, I walked away, only to have him shout out to me, "He would be a great judge."
I regret not telling the guy about the new album, but, I didn't want to seem like a cray fan. Plus, someone else was waiting to get a key made. Still, it was nice to hear someone recognize and appreciate Adam.
(Now, if only the keys he made for me actually worked, it would have been a total win experience.)

Totally agree, Misha!! I had taken Urban's quotes the other day as backpedaling, but after running it through Twitteranalysis, I'm loving the Urban idea. Since I don't follow country music, I didn't realize how long he had been gone for his vocal issues. That in itself is good motivation for him to want to do something like this to get back into the thick of things. Also, since I know he lives in both Australia and I think Tennessee, I thought why would he want to uproot his life like that? But his comeback after vocal problems answers that question for me. Because his wife is a gazillionaire, I can see him not haggling about a few million dollars and seeing the benefit for his career. (IF any of this is true, btw ... I've become highly dubious of ALL Idol-leak articles.) Also, he's reputed to be very cool – not racist or homophobic in any way, so yay for that.

Call Me Maybe also makes me cringe and for the life of me, I don't understand why it is so popular. Had the same feeling about Hey, Soul Sister and to a lesser degree Payphone, that John Mayer song, and A Thousand Years. I know some people think Runnin' would not make a good single, but I put it in the same category as as Goyte's Somebody That I Used to Love and Fun's We are Young. Not that I am particularly fans of those two songs, but they were so different (kinda hard to peg what genre) that they made people take notice. I think I've only heard of one person who didn't like Runnin'.

This may be reading tealeaves or there may be something to it, but I just noticed that on RyanSeacrest.com there are special features on Enrique Iglesias, Nicki Minaj and even Adam, all three are still contenders.
Nicki is pretty much to be expected, given that her video just came out, and Enrique has a single out, but Adam is not every day on that page, I would presume. Perhaps others can confirm, because I am sure not looking all too often at Ryan's webpage.
I am just like others here, on one hand not trying to get my hopes up too much, but on the other hand constantly seeing signals that make them flare up again.
Craazy, what can I say!
Now onto a different question: Why on earth would anybody think it is ok for KU to get 3-4 million and MC gets 18 million? Am I missing something? And where does that leave Adam? Collecting pocket change? I was hoping he would get a few million out of such a deal, but I don't think he can collect in the KU range. Why does KU settle for so little? I hope that is wrong. I would be glad to see him on the panel otherwise. He's got class, as compared to Miss PepsiCokeTwitterTrashTalkingMariahCompetitionFromHellWithAsylumVideo, who does not.

2012-08-23 Joy 94.9df [soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/14gelly/2012-08-23-joy-94-9df[/soundcloud] IMO, he is definitely NOT talking about the single, with his surprise talk! This kind of confirms, in my mind anyway, that the Japanese fan got the "surprise stuff in Sept." quote right. Then Adam had that twitter party for the sole purpose of back pedaling (perhaps after a "What the hell did you say?" phone call from Shosh!) ;D And, OMFG!!! He is hiding stuff about a Queen tour, too! I just know it!
Just finished listening to the whole interview and gotta say that I'm with mys*&@^#r. IMO, Adam has been practically promoting "TSP" as the new single without the outright announcement in Japan, and more subtly down under as well. I'd be really shocked if the new single turned out to be "not-Tsp".
And, he said he's gonna try to strike a balance between fronting Queen and his own "stuff", too! (a silent squeeeee....)
Okay, gonna stop myself right here, to quote Adam, "well, the future is gonna map itself out, and unfold for itself!"
