Shirley Halpern is very well connected to Idol and very reliable in the past. I think that gives the edge to Enrique. IMO Adam remains a long shot as a judge. But I do think something is going on with Adam -- but it may not be Idol. Enrique has no cred - he can't sing. Sorry don't believe it's Enrique. He has a tour most of Sept and oct. Enrique has cred and he sings. Singing well isn't a prerequisite for being an Idol judge: Simon, Paula, Kara, Ellen, Randy, Jlo and now Nicki. I don't want Enrique to take the last spot either, but he is just as qualified as most of the others who have been on the panel.

But I do think something is going on with Adam -- but it may not be Idol. She didn't mention Enrique in the new article at all. In addition Enrique's tour dates around the end of Sept and early Oct in europe haven't been cancelled which may conflict with AI schedule. If he was in, he would have cancelled them by now. In Shirley's new article, she left the fourth seat a big question mark. The only question mark remains Randy Jackson, whose fate has not yet been decided. He might stay on as a fourth judge, or he might not, say sources. Idol producers are still talking with prospective judges for that fourth slot, and if they can find the right fit for the right price, Jackson could be shifted off the judges' panel for the first time in the show's history.
But as Carey's co-manager and an Idol loyalist from the start, Jackson is still likely to have a major role on the show, even if it's not as an official judge. So one theory could be AI wants Adam to be a surprise (if it's gonna be Adam).

Enrique is not very articulate and when he was a guest mentor...he was god awful. Really will make a great judge...probably as good as Ellen : : :
