Will Adam be back home by Monday for the possible Idol announcement? That Oz schedule got be confused because it listed something as late as 8/31. They're all recorded this week. I think he will fly back home on Sunday afternoon (around 8am Sunday morning LA time). So he will be back in LA Monday morning.

[/IMG] [/IMG] I too think Adam has always been a long shot and the TMZ thing where they showed Simon & Paula the logical answer is it's Randy coming back. They said "someone is coming back" He was the only one missing from the picture and no one knew if he was coming back. You know how Idol operates so it's probably Randy. They always twist their words. I think the panel is complete now. Mariah, Nicki, Keith and Randy.
What do you picture Adam doing for this big calendar clearing promo? I am just curious because I can never think of anything besides the limited things I know about like radio concerts and talk shows, and those are not big enough things to keep secret. He told us about PLL so that isn't a secret. Can't be Queen related because he is going to be promoting new single, and needs to focus on his music. I agree Randy coming back would also fulfill TMZ comment, but it would not be a smart move on Idol's part IMO.

Shirley Halpern is very well connected to Idol and very reliable in the past. I think that gives the edge to Enrique. IMO Adam remains a long shot as a judge. But I do think something is going on with Adam -- but it may not be Idol. Enrique has no cred - he can't sing. Sorry don't believe it's Enrique. He has a tour most of Sept and oct. There are a handful of dates -- most could easily be cancelled. You do not need to be able to sing to be an Idol judge -- Simon, Paula, Randy, Ellen, Kara could not sing very well (or at all). I do not know if Enrique has cred, but he is very popular. The highest selling Latin artist in the past 20 years. He has a $50 million contract with Universal, is popular with US Hispanics and across Latin America. He has 2 Billboard Hot 100 #1 hits, a total of 68 BBoard #1 hits, sold 55 million records worldwide. Billboard named him the number two Latin artist of the years 1986–2011. There are over 50 million Hispanics in the US with a total of over $1 trillion in buying power. If they were a country, US Hispanics would be the 12th largest economy in the world. Idol needs ratings, and they need to sell ads. Seem like Enrique would be an attractive addition to the show when it comes to the advertisers. Check out his discography: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enrique_Iglesias_discography I am not saying they are going with Enrique -- just the he is not someone to just dismiss as attractive to FOX.

This is a little off subject perhaps, but why is Idol so enthralled with Randy? I know he is a name in the industry, but I always found him to be a poor and boring judge.

I totally get that it does not fit into regular pop, but why can such a song not be released to rock stations? I know they are dwindeling in this country, but perhaps that is also because they are not fed with interesting new rock songs (like Runnin). If they try to live off of a Nickelback diet flavored with some classic rock, perhaps that is why they are a dying breed. Said the same thing about CLYG, which in my mind has the same history, it's a bonus track, not released everywhere, never made it into the ears of anyone who did not buy the deluxe album and the right one at that. I don't understand release strategies. I don't understand release strategies. I don't understand release strategies. Even without major promotion, rock stations could have used the Queen story as a segway to play the song, and it would sound great played right next to classic rock music. But, what do I know about such things....clearly nothing. Runnin' is a bonus track, it is not destined to be a single. So any discussion of it as a single is hypothetical. Even if it was a single, there is no radio format for this song. I never figured out how Adele fit into pop format, nor Fireflies. And why not HAC? As far as being a bonus track I thought that most b-sides in the day were considered throw-away and look how many of them became big. All Runnin needs is a gold medal gymnastics team.

Enrique has no cred - he can't sing. Sorry don't believe it's Enrique. He has a tour most of Sept and oct. Enrique has cred and he sings. Singing well isn't a prerequisite for being an Idol judge: Simon, Paula, Kara, Ellen, Randy, Jlo and now Nicki. I don't want Enrique to take the last spot either, but he is just as qualified as most of the others who have been on the panel. Not buying this. He is booked with concerts and I don't think will come cheap enough. I think they need someone more superfluid, quick thinking and able to balance the energies of the others. I know I am prejudiced but even if it wasn't Adam under consideration, I don't think Enrique is the answer.
