I don't care about the ratings. The only thing I care about is Adam getting some kind of boost out of this. If he gets it Well.. I care about that off course that's the most important goal... side effect of that is I see him on my TV every week..

Someone said that Fox/Idol will choose the person for the 4th judges, that they believe will bring the most buzz and bang for the money and the most viewers. Sounds like Adam's description.. don't you think? Wouldn't Adam fans already be watchitang Idol since that's where they discovered him? I have never watched AI (except Adam on youtube), but I will certainly begin to watch it if Adam is one of the judges. And isn't it true that Adam killed AI. After AI8 there were much less interest. I'm sure Adam as a judge would change the situation again.

This whole Idol stuff reminds me of when they used to put Adam on last almost every time during season 8. I would be nearly in cardiac arrest by the time Adam would sing. Sometimes it was so late that he barely got to finish his song. He seemed to be the closing act... sound familiar. Sweet point.

[/IMG]
Happy dance because as I stated I think Adam should focus elsewhere. But that is called my opinion. Yes it differs from others. But I am getting the feeling that any differing opinion from the majority is not welcome here. Truth be told I think Adam is way better than that tv show American Idol. There I said it.
I am not a huge AI fan either, but in terms of what it would meant to Adam this is a HUGE opportunity. Whether you like the show or not, it is one of the highest rated shows in the US and the exposure he would get is immeasurable. I don't understand how can you say the show is not good enough for him? AI is huge and has involved top sellers from around the world as judges and mentors. Saying he is too good for AI doesn't make any sense to me. He was so loved as a performer on the show, but during his run in Season 8, no one really got to hear him talk or show any personality outside of his performances. It was limited to the few words they got to say after their performance or on results night. This opportunity for the world to see what an articulate, warm, funny, and intelligent person he is - on top of what a huge talent - would be incredible. Of course we all want him to be able to focus on the music, and if he were Katy Perry or Justin Beiber, and much loved by radio, he probably wouldn't need Idol. But this would just take him down a slightly deviated path while promoting Trespassing. Next spring the world will be fully enamoured by him and hopefully record sales and radio play will explode. There... i said it.

Add me to team #feltAdamhadthisfromday1, and I say this as someone who's been riding the fence in terms of personal preferences on this whole Idol thing for a while (want it for him, but it's gonna kill me to try and fit 3? 4? hrs/wk of Idol into my schedule on a regular basis). I will SOO not be crushed if he doesn't, but something about the positive way Adam was addressing these rumors from the very first mention in London struck me as unusual for him and very suggestive. And the expertly orchestrated Great Tokyo Twitter Evasion just made me more convinced it was gonna happen. NO way Adam goes through all that trouble to change "job" to "stuff" for a baseless rumor bouncing around Asia. That had a decidedly top-down feel about it. MyS*&@^#r, pass me those mashed potatoes. MWP HONGRY. ;D
Like I said, excited but all knotted up about the prospect of The Honorable Adam, Idol Judge. But I have to give props to the gang at FOX if this is indeed the panel. A Mariah, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, Adam judging panel is pretty impressive. I take each of those people seriously in their own right, it's diverse, everyone on it has genuine talent, and it's lively and interesting.
I know there's been some Minaj-hate going down the last few days; musically, I don't really know her past her singles, and I can't say I love them, but she's hardly a manufactured pop star--or rather, she is manufactured, but she manufactured herself in a pretty interesting way. She's clearly very smart and able, is an impressive writer, made her own way up via mix-tapes that got a lot of attention, and is def. a trespasser in her own right as a female rapper who's really made it. I respect her visual instincts and her kind of japanime approach to the pop genre, even if I don't always like it. I think she'll make a great addition to Idol's sometimes somewhat conservative and old-fashioned, prettypipes-oriented sense of pop-music, which is well represented on the panel by Mariah.
Urban's always struck me as decent and impressive--a smart take on country, which is great, because sometimes country gets a bad rap because of some very prominent buffoons.
What Adam brings we all know already--I don't need to enumerate the many virtues.
I'm not an Idol fan, and haven't really watched any season but Adam's, but I'm interested in this panel, and if it's peeps like me--"undecided voters" lol--that Idol is trying to convince, they're going about it the right way.

Yes, MWP!
Idol really pulled off getting an amazing panel! And they have the only show that can showcase a successful contestant as a judge! Win, win, win!! OMG, his PR package will be amazing!

BTW.. If Adam is the 4th judges, I can already imagine Adam and Mariah performing together and belting and jamin with their improvisations... pheww He could jam with any of the three of them - could be really interesting and fun. And as much fun as the bloggers have had with his cover of "Is This Love", it could be a regular feature on the show. With four people who can actually sing, there could be a fun snippet each week, not a full song. Different judges and genres each week... (Of course, it would be the best when Adam was singing...) It would also be added publicity for the show. Hehe, can't wait for a Kieth Urban-Nikki Minaj duet. That would be one for the generations!

This captures exactly how I feel -- since the beginning I felt he had it and it was just fated. (Very unusual for me to be ruled by my heart/instinct.) I can line up the clues and it seems very compelling. But I also know that it could all be an illusion. A "beautiful rumor" and somehow not happen. Either way, with or without Idol, I do know Adam will do something amazing this year.
