Last year, they did 8 cities in 6 weeks. Here is the schedule:
8/17 & 18
8/30 & 31
9/2 & 3
Big gap here
9/24 & 25
9/28 & 29
10/1 & 2
10/5 & 6
10/9 & 10
This year they have 7 cities and we know they have to be done by 10/13, at the latest, so that Minaj can get to Paris for her 10/14 show.
If they announce the week of 9/12 that would only give them 4 weeks to do the auditions. I would think that next week would be the latest they could announce, so that they could start by the week of 9/12. It is interesting that Shirley specifically said 9/12. That is not a Monday. It is the day XF Premieres.
This year's cities are: Los Angeles, San Antonio, Charlotte, Newark, Chicago, NOLA, OK City

Shirley is slowly eliminating all the rumored people. Here is my Nick Jonas/ Paisley/Urban theory. I have only shared this with my closest friends in the Mashed Potato Club.  I think Idol really wanted Brad Paisley. And they spent a few weeks negotiating but Brad wouldn't budge on salary. Then they tried a few other people in Nashville, but made no serious offers. So they went to Plan B. Which was, "Let's put in someone really young, like Demi on XF!" NJ's name came up as available and all his brothers are just starting shows. Maybe even Ryan or Nigel suggested NJ. So, I believe NJ really was being considered by Idol. But during that time, feelers came in from Keith Urban's people. Idol REALLY wanted a Country guy to round out their panel. When they signed Urban, they gave NJ the XF mentor, in Demi's "house" as a consolation prize. IMO, it is a perfect spot for Nick. Oh, and the other part of my theory still stands. Adam was the 2nd person signed, right after Mariah, and he has had this since the end of July!  I love this scenario. It squares things about which I have been puzzling . I have also felt that Adam has had this for a while, and couldn't reconcile that assumption when young Nick Jonas entered the picture. I assumed he was after the same spot as Adam, but having him compete for a seat that originally was slotted for country works really well. I am very glad they picked KU as he seems like a class act. |

On a more serious note & OT - shoutout to Libralamb7pf who lives in southern Louisiana & is in the path of Isaac. Hope you're gonna be okay! Check in when you can!  Here I am, Ginger! Hunkered down & waitin for ole Isaac with my cats, a nervous chocolate Lab & my sweetie. Have stocked up on everything we could think of (Tito's vodka!), secured all the porch furniture etc & picked up Chinese food for dinner. So far, so good. Still praying for a fizzle on this storm, but we prepared for the worst. Helped my brother get one of the last available generators on the Coast as he will have charge of our 83-year old Mom (a big Adam fan...of course!). Tomorrow night or early Wednesday will tell the tale. I should be able to keep in touch via my iPhone even if/when we lose power, so will be checking in for NEWS. Sure wish I'd had this gadget back whe we survived Hurricane Katrina! Thanks for thinking of us down here on the South Coast, y'all...  stay safe darlin'! |

Hector Fonseca, the Matinee DJ, and also a major remixer (Beyonce, Rihanna, Gaga) has tweeted that Adam will not be doing a "full concert" on Saturday, so i would expect just the "light" side of TP.

I'm sitting here in Vienna, listening to Australian radio ... not understanding any of the jokes... waiting for anoter Adam song .... sad? hell no!!!! This makes my life richer every minute!!!! ETA explanation: today I came back from a family weekend where I got told to get a life and be careful of my "addiction" ..... fuck em!!! ETA2: Funny to me: Austrian and Australian news (listening right now) have 2 topics in common today: the 15y girl winning at golf, and that the brain is capable of learning during sleep ... who would have thought ... ? Must still be the summer low .... Ah I am keen to visit Vienna one day! As to your family and others who say "get a life". This is a either very short conversation (fuck em) or a loong one where you try to explain what Adam means to you and how he has impacted your life! I sometimes get to point out: well, X, if there was someone in my life who was as Present and inspiring as Adam, then maybe I would not look at Adamtopia almost every day. So X, shall we have an authentic and interesting and self aware conversation, or shall we go back to talking about how the traffic was abominable today? ;D I'm being mean I know. |

IF they unveil the judges week of 9/12 in LA at the LA judging event. then do 9/17 OK + San Antonio, 9/24 NOLA + Charlotte, 10/1 Newark + Chicago. 4 weeks. Done by 10/5. |
