For me: Mariah: dull Nikki: focused on her shell (its a vivid outer layer admittedly) Keith: nice, dreaming, resigned Adam: dynamic, alive, something could happen...

I love this scenario. It squares things about which I have been puzzling . I have also felt that Adam has had this for a while, and couldn't reconcile that assumption when young Nick Jonas entered the picture. I assumed he was after the same spot as Adam, but having him compete for a seat that originally was slotted for country works really well. I am very glad they picked KU as he seems like a class act. And all of this concerning Adam is based on the assumption that Randy will not be a judge this year and there is room for Adam on the panel. Sure hope this theory is right and that Adam is the chosen one. *prays* I think that the last season's judging panel got such a bad reaction from viewers that Idol knew it had to get rid of everyone and start fresh.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting, Nica. And I agree, of course, with the quote--except for the "possible" part. I'm loling at the comments defending Keith Urban. They are just what people accuse "defensive Glamberts" to be like. Hmmm. Not a country fan, as I've mentioned before. So Keith Urban to me is more or less a pretty face and cool accent. I would say, though, that clearly this writer is clueless. Urban is definitely the bigger "get" than Paisley--or even Sheldon was for The Voice. Paisley is widely respected, Sheldon, ehh, not so much. He really only took off with The Voice and talent is seen as pretty middling here. But Urban is by far the biggest star. And, please, this statement: "Even artists who started off as rock are now singing with Reba and moving to Nashville (Kelly Clarkson)." Kelly is rock? Really? When? : Guess they just needed someone to plug into their thesis.

But they wanted to resign JLo -- she just asked for too much money.

Somehow I think they would have to pry Randy out of his seat with a crowbar. But I sure hope this theory is right and that Adam is the chosen one. *prays* Lol about the crowbar, FanoftheMan. Sooooo true. The only thing I wonder is if Mariah coming on board gave a little more leverage to Randy's crowbar. ;D If Randy comes back, it will be such an eyeroll moment for me and other longtime Idol viewers. But, honestly, part of me would just be laughing hysterically if this were the case. I had a minor (and very shortlived) freakout earlier today when I saw someone's earlier post about TMZ with an abbreviated link name that read "Seacrest ... judge." I thought, omg, the worst-case scenario is if they promote Seacrest to the role. That would complete my knolliest conspiracy theory of Seacrest's total domination of entertainment. And the last paragraph is only bemusement on my part. I really don't believe this is a possibility!

Last year, they did 8 cities in 6 weeks. Here is the schedule: 8/17 & 18 8/30 & 31 9/2 & 3 Big gap here 9/24 & 25 9/28 & 29 10/1 & 2 10/5 & 6 10/9 & 10 This year they have 7 cities and we know they have to be done by 10/13, at the latest, so that Minaj can get to Paris for her 10/14 show. If they announce the week of 9/12 that would only give them 4 weeks to do the auditions. I would think that next week would be the latest they could announce, so that they could start by the week of 9/12. It is interesting that Shirley specifically said 9/12. That is not a Monday. It is the day XF Premieres. This year's cities are: Los Angeles, San Antonio, Charlotte, Newark, Chicago, NOLA, OK City If they do 2 a week plus LA (the big announcement city) they can start on 9.12. IF they unveil the judges week of 9/12 in LA at the LA judging event. then do 9/17 OK + San Antonio, 9/24 NOLA + Charlotte, 10/1 Newark + Chicago. 4 weeks. Done by 10/5. Yes! That would work! I think LA will indeed be the first city. Of course, that doesn't explain why Adam had to get back here so fast. I dunno, I am going to say press release tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then definitely next week, Tuesday. I really think 9/12 is too late.

If you are young and gay, by all means go! It just clearly isn't an event geared to straight women over 40. What is next thing I can't do when I will be over 40? So this all talking about freedom and being yourself is BS? I can be myself on Adam's concert but not on some LGBT party because I will embarrass him? So, "young" gays with balls are the only ones that can go? What no female gays? I would totally go to this event. Adam doesn't know me from the house cat so how could I embarrass him? It couldn't be any worse for wear than "Swinging Richards" in Atlanta after the Symphony Hall performance (and yes, you can guess what was swinging LOL). That was a blast. I went with my son and when he introduced me as his mom, I was totally embraced. So many wanted to party with me and applauded me for supporting my son's sexuality. I am definitely not afraid of my age. There were many straight people there and the only time I felt uncomfortable was when I had to have my son go to the bathroom with me. There are strange things that happen in the bathrooms! This was me....................................... and then............................................ ;D
