...the constant worry and angst.There may be people that can't help dwelling on these feelings. yes , yes , YES TO THIS , 4MSRMYN , THANK YOU . i remeber back then when I used to come here and be overwhelmed by the happiness and cheerfulness . Adamtopia used to be a beautiful place . I used to come here to entertain myself with Adam goodies and feel good . I've seen this exact type of post a hundred times over the past year and even longer if you want to go back to PF. I've also seen this same type of comment expressed time and again for three years on another fanboard. It's all the same, nothing "has happened to this place". There's always been people complaining about the posts or the tone of a thread, etc...etc...etc... I don't know what to tell you, fans like to talk about different things.  |

In my opinion, this forum is to talk, celebrate, angst or ???? about Adam. What it is not here for is fans and posters complaining about other fans and posters, or their posts. Scroll works for everyone, not just others. hey...tunnel carpal is your friend :-)...or is it carpal tunnel....can never remember...

Adam may not be a doll to dress. But circular speculation about AI is a sure recipe for insanity. It is not fun and it makes me feel like I'm a hamster on a wheel. So, I for one am stepping off the hamster wheel. Placing Adam haute suggestions into the universe is like the butterfly moving its wings in china. Who knows what winds may stir on the other side of the world.

Maybe. Adam wasn't going on tour during this time no matter what happens with Idol. He could be doing one-offs (making money) and also single promo (spending money). Adam didn't just give up Wicked, from what I understand. He gave up the ability to sign on again with Wicked OR any other touring company for a year. That was giving up a full time job that he couldn't go back to and giving up his profession for a year. It was a huge leap of faith. Adam is at the point in his life where he can take a month or two off and still live the same lifestyle he is accustomed to. He wasn't at that point when he tried out for Idol and he definitely would have been in trouble if he had to take a year off. When I read about the AI contract and the situation it put Adam in, I understood why more Broadway professional didn't ever try out for Idol! Maybe Idol would get better talent auditioning if these contracts were less risky for the contestants. They way it is now, they mostly get people who have no other career opportunities in music. That's not true. They get lots of very talented people auditioning, thousands. It's just that they are casting a show and they pick and choose who they put through, even at the first level of the arena auditions. I have a friend who auditioned and she said there was no rhyme or reason, that she could tell, to who made it to the next round. Adam even stated he wasn't sure if he would get through because at Hollywood week, there was another guy similar to him. So, he was never sure. IMO, the past 2 years have beeen filled with amazing talent. No one as great as Adam, but he is one of kind. I don't think the best person has won, either year, but to say there was little talent is doing a great injustice to these kids. |
