That's not true. They get lots of very talented people auditioning, thousands. It's just that they are casting a show and they pick and choose who they put through, even at the first level of the arena auditions. I have a friend who auditioned and she said there was no rhyme or reason, that she could tell, to who made it to the next round. Adam even stated he wasn't sure if he would get through because at Hollywood week, there was another guy similar to him. So, he was never sure. IMO, the past 2 years have beeen filled with amazing talent. No one as great as Adam, but he is one of kind. I don't think the best person has won, either year, but to say there was little talent is doing a great injustice to these kids. Seems I chose the wrong words. By "better talent" I meant more experienced talent. All of the contestants that have made it though are really good singers. But few have the stage presence or presentation skills to keep a fickle public wowed for very long. It was a novel idea to use very inexperienced contestants when Idol first started, but now people are wanting more, especially now that there are a number of other singing contests on TV. Idol has gotten a lot of flack for being a glorified "karaoke" contest which makes it harder for people coming off the show to make it in the business. Bringing in some more experienced talent could help change this impression and add more spice to the show. But with the current contractual rules, this is not as likely to happen. I think what SOME people like about Idol is the very concept of having random contestants trying to make it. In AI8, Matt performed, Kris played in bars, Allison did gigs of all sorts since she was a child, etc. Even Adam, though he had performed for years, was basically a chorus boy. And here they all were, plucked from obscurity and given an opportunity to shine. Some do, some don't, no matter what their previous experience entails. I don't watch the other shows, barely watch Idol any more, but have any of their winners made an impact? Just curious. The two guys who opened for Adam at the one outdoor concert were winners from some show(s) right? Good voices, but I wasn't impressed with their entertainment skills. But then again, if Lana Del Rey can be a hit in certain countries, I don't think there's a sure fire way to guarantee anything.

I actually had a PM from somebody who's been registered here for a year and a half, with a zero post count, telling me she was terribly offended by it. Made me like it even more. ;D You go gurl

ACK! Perez Effing Hilton might be there? Now we'll have to be tormented by all his tweets saying bad things afterwards about Adam's singing...his fashion choices...his behavior.... I wish that guy would disappear into a rip in the space time continuum. I really do. Any chance will.i.am will be there? LOL! I would give Teddybear's left nut if he was and if he punched out perez again. :4OMG:

I thought the 1st one, Jermain?, did rather well in the oldies sing along considering that he had to just wing it because his band had car problems on the way and did not make it thete. He had the crowd singing along.

The X Factor is only a year old in the US, but a couple of their contestants have had some moderate success on the charts, but nothing like the contestants from AI. The UK X Factor has had much more success over the years than its US version so far. The Voice really doesn't try promote their contestants very well, especially when compared to the efforts made by AI and the X Factor. There is a general burn out situation with all the singing reality show contestants. There probably isn't going to be another Kelly or Carrie coming from one of these shows.

Larger version: I have never realized that Tommy has a perfect profile.... he really does - it (his profile) is gorgeous - in every way. I don't think Tommy has a perfect profile.. It looks kind of funny, because his chin is longer than his nose. I like Sauli's profile better, where his nose is not competing with his chin... HAHAHA
