Update on the question about X Factor contestants: Melanie Amaro, the winner of last year's show, had 17 adds today and 14 of them were on CHR stations. I think Simon is going to try and make sure she has some type of success with this first single, at least. I'm thinking her remix-cover of RESPECT went to #2 or #3 on the dance charts. She is with L.A. Reid at Epic Records. So why is it so easy for these X-Factor contestants to get adds on CHR (Chris Rene also had no problem) and Adam can't for the life of him. >:( |

do they even need contestants? Simon came up with yet another "winning" for HIM formula and made it all about the JUDGES/MENTORS..DIGUSTING.... makes me embarrassed to want this for Adam.... They X Factor had big names come in last year. In fact, Mariah was set to be Simon's celebrity artist, but couldn't make it. The other celebrity guest artists last year were Rihanna, Enrique and Pharrell. In years past, Idol has had big name artists come in as mentors and guest judges during the audition rounds and during the live shows. I would list them, but the list is way too long! lol This is nothing new. I'm not sure why it would be embarrassing for Adam to be in the same group with these big name, successful artists. ??? I did not say it is embarrassing for Adam, on the contrary - it is an honor for him to be considered and hopefully selected. What I did say was that I am embarrassed for my own self to want Adam to participate in a show that is no longer about the contestants when IMO IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE CONTESTANTS. So, I despise all these shows and their producers and their pretense that they are doing something for these hopefuls while in fact all they are after is their own pockets. I am not liking the duality of my own attitude. :redface: |

All these UK acts getting airplay over Adam...I saw Cher Lloyd on AGT and I thought she was gawd awful. I really couldn't believe it. |

We can work on our project while waiting for the AI announcement - yes we can! :-) I'm giving up my birthday tomorrow for the 1 in 10 kids' Adam concert tickets. Unfortunately at this age I only get a couple of presents, but I've asked them to buy 1 in 10 tickets instead. So besides my own donation, they'll be getting a couple more. Can't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday! :D Ouch, I just re-read this post ... it sounds like I'm saying it is unfortunate I only get a few presents ... that's not at all what I meant!!! :-[ I meant it is unfortunate I don't have many people I could ask to buy Adam's concert tickets for the 1 in 10 kids instead of giving me a present ... I know gracefuladam is trying to get tickets for 30 to 35 of the 1 in 10 kids to go to Adam's concert in Arizona, and I think she is only about half way there. We only have about 2 weeks until the tickets go on sale, and it would be good to buy them all at once so the kids can sit together. The reserved seats are only $20, but she has said even $5 would help with transportation costs. And 1 in 10 is a 501(c)3 organization, so donations can be tax deductible. |
