The only thing that will attracct Latin American viewers would be a Latin American contestant. I think Allison Iraheta has been the only one to make Top 10 in 12 seasons! Jessica Sanchez was bi-racial and she was half hispanic. Also, there was that Andrew guy- WGWG- can't remember his name. lol she's half hispanic and half asian (Fillipino)

In recent years, Enrique couldn't sell records or downloads. What put him back on itunes and Top 40 radio was Pitbull. Pitbull also restarted J-Lo's music career. Maybe Pitbull needs to be a judge on Idol.

Just checked, her dad is Mexican American. ETA: Ooooo, I forgot about Archie! I have just always thought of him as Mormon. I know that doesn't make sense, but that was the way my brain saw him.

Adam mention in rather strange Huff post article. I find that article irritating on multiple levels, but anyhow, everybody can form their own opinion. The Adam mention is rather snide and at the end of article and inaccurate in context too. Huffington Post @huffingtonpost What would happen if one of the One Direction boys were gay? huff.to/PpqpEt On the AI speculations: Nothing new to add. Was on the "He has that in the bag" trail for long time, but that first SH article threw a wrench into things for me, and essentially the narrative has not changed up to today, as there is still Enrique vs Adam talk going on everywhere. He so would deserve this, but so does he deserve getting played on radio or getting better mentions that the one quoted above. I remain hopeful based on all the clues, but also slightly skeptical, as he has come in second in enough races for me to not be too easily presumptuous, unfortunately and we do have clues on both sides. That said, I am thankful and happy for all those who are already popping the champagne, because you are making this a happy place. If we need to cry, we can always do this later, so why shed the tears twice. (figurative tears not real ones, no, I am not depressed, at least not for Adam. For Idol - maybe) Anyhoo....put me down for 50/50 between Enrique and him.

They were going for Katy Perry before Mariah! Yes, thanks for the info. My view is that I will never endorse "AI needs a male white judge" because its endorsing a form of racism. That is the point I am making here. If you look at it from other perspective, it's diversity, not racism, and I think it makes sense. Do you remember Adam said about how AI select the contestants, they also try to find someone that can represent some group of people. If they do that with the contestants, they may do the same with judges. They may not have as many judges as contestants, but they may try to make the judging panel as representative as possible. Who knows.

Enrique's songs, especially those with Pitbull, are very raunchy. Like his hit, "Tonight I'm F***ing You". After it did well on iTunes, they cleaned it up for radio, "Tonight I'm Loving You", but the sentiment was the same. It should be fun watching Enrique do his hits for the pure, decent god-fearing folks who watch Idol. But at least he ain't queer.

I imagine that Adam will be cheaper than Enrique so that has to be a consideration. Didn't Idol say they wanted a judge that gave a lot of bang for the buck? Who fits that description more than Adam. His fashion choices alone would boost ratings. I remember when he was on the show, I always looked forward to seeing his look each week.

That is the point I am making here. It's not racism. It's TV demographics. Racism would be implying one was better than the other. This is more of a quota so Idol can hit key demographics.
