I want Idol for Adam because he wants it. Also because the exposure and visibility would be invaluable for his career. But would both Adam AND Enrique be required by Idol to clear their calendars and just stand by and wait for the decision? That doesn't strike right for me. Now I'm wondering if Adam's coming home at this time has nothing to do with Idol at all. ??? I am confused about that quick trip home for nothing as far as I can see. It might have been that all the urgency was on our side, and he was just coming home just to be coming home. He did say he was working on secret stuff for September so something has to be going on however. The "quick trip home" is a fan conclusion not a fact. It may well have been the planned return date. The fact that Adam did not do another interview with Byron Cooke means very little since Byron is mostly based in LA. I am not understanding this "fast" return idea. Am I missing something?

It is racism in the sense that "people only relate to their look alikes". I dont. I bet you dont and I bet Adam doesnt (though come to think of it he picked a scandinavian throwback to his past!) Its like having balck people date black people on tv shows or white people date white people. This is racism even if it seems normal to some people. It's demographics and facing the reality of the world you live in. idol is obviously trying to keep the demographic they have while adding to it. They have a country star and a diva because their demo skews older and conservative. These two are the "right" side of the panel. Minaj is young, black, urban, and viable in the present tense. They've never had anyone like her before, and she should widen the viewership. She's on the "left." Usually, if a show like this has four spots and two of them go to the right with one to the left, then the remaining spot will go to a "center." Adam is not a center, but Enrique is. Would the already conservative demographic rebel if faced with an urban star and a gay male, not to mention a country star who is an Aussie? However, Enrique is a foreigner, as is Urban, and both men speak with accents. How will that go over with the conservative audience? Toss a coin. Maybe who they really want is Kris Allen!! :-[ :-/

:dunno: Idol needs to balance the judging panel to maximize the audience. I will be happy if Adam is a judge, I will be happy if he is not a judge. I just want him to keep singing. ETA If Adam retires, I will be sad. That is the only thing that would make me sad. ETA 2: Let's not beat up Enrique -- especially on the gay issue. Since he is probably bisexual. WHAT!!?? When did Enrique say he was bisexual?

I am pretty excited about PLL. This is the kind of promo that can help a spot on a young, cool show. Does anyone else remember seeing one of the PLL actors saying something about Adam being on the Halloween show and on the first show of the season? Now I can't remember where I heard that. PLL Season 3 premiere Was Tues., June 5 at 8 p.m. ET. So not the Adam episode.

Maybe who they really want is Kris Allen!! :-[ :-/ No. They do not want Kris Allen ;D It's fun to watch it unfold, as they're taking chances. Minaj is a departure. Urban is a great choice. Both Enrique and Adam are unusual picks. It'll be an interesting panel whoever gets in.

Thanks. I needed this. I was checking out this Enrique Iglesias dude. Wanted to see what he sounded like. Watched snippets of a live concert vid. Boring. Doesn't do much with his voice. Not a showman. Not stylish. Meh. Had to go listen and look at some pretty, some personality. Enrique is a showman and the girls and women love him. He is a big ticket performer.

Adam had a twitter party, necked, in bed, with Sauli asleep beside him (cue fan meltdown of awwww).
And in other news we have officially reached groundhog day in discussions about which "big star" will join Mariah's boobs behind (or perhaps resting on) the well used but hopefully wiped down AI desk.

My comment "at least he ain't queer" wasn't meant to be a slam on Enrique (whose sexuality has been rumored about).
What i was trying to say is that even right-wingers have found it difficult to enforce the old rules against pre-marital sex. Losing battle. So, nowadays, morality tends to focus on rules against same-sex sex, which rules are, after all, pretty easy for straight people to follow. So Enrique can be more free to get "shady" on national TV, and Top 40 radio, than Adam can.
