I am a passionate Adam fan and will be for the rest of my life. I think he is amazing on so many levels. His examples of being true to himself and trying to stay positive in negative situations carry over to how I try to live my own life. I want this Idol judge for him. But if he doesn't get it I will move on and not dwell on the negative. That is something he taught me too. Adam is love and joy and laughter. That is how I want to be. This could end in so many ways. But it has to end in September. There is a real possibility that Adam wants more money to do Idol than they want to pay him. They are already spending a ton of money on judges -- around $30+ million for 3 judges. Can't imagine they will spend $4-$5 million on the 4th judge. And I would HATE to see Adam do this for less than $5 million. Plus, they have to pay Randy and $35 million for Ryan. (Judges get more than the salary -- they get a lot of expensive +++'s) No way do I believe Adam would not take this job because of money. He needs this. The whole launch of his third single is waiting on this. The exposure itself is worth a million.

I saw Enrique at the Q Springlebowl and it seems as if he didn't sing at all just added a few words here and there. He gave the mike to a fan to sing one song the rest relied on audience participation and back-up singers. He had a nice set though: big white balloons and confetti
Yeah bring on the big white balloons & confetti. That's what makes a star. Who needs to be able to actually SING? As long as he can still sell his music and gain fans, no one cares. That's the common picture of today's music.

If Idol picks Enrique instead of Adam I am going to be so upset. Adam is one of their own. Sigh...... They've never had an alum as a judge so it would be more surprising for them to pick him than for them not to pick him.
But that's the very thing that would make it such a perfect pick! None of the other shows will have a successful previous contestant as a judge. Would make Idol unique.
Preaching to the choir.

If anything - it is a feather in their hat... He mentored. Nigel loves Travis on the SYTYCD and they have other alums as choreographers... IMO - it all comes down to demo and advertisers. Nothing else.

Doesn't have to be Idol.

I'm not a hand-wringer or beset with angst but at this point, for me, after the teases going back months and now having him say he's bullshitting fans, well, I'm irritated. It's not cute or amusing any more. Just irritating. Or as my sister says, "All foreplay and no follow-through makes a woman cranky." Regarding Idol -- what "teases" is Adam responsible for? Am I forgetting some? So far, Adam has said it's a beautiful rumor, it is possible, he would like to do it, and he does not know the decision. Most/all of the "teases" have come from fans -- not from Adam. For example, a few fans decided that Idol would announce early this week -- Monday or Tuesday. Turned out to be not true. Fans found that TMZ comeback quote and connected it to Idol judges and Adam. It was not related to either. Adam made a comment in Oklahoma during the WinStar concert about being back in the area soon. He never said anything that linked that to Idol. Fans connected that to Idol. It could be another concert for all we know or something else. Adam did not do side-by-side photos of Adam looking down to prove he was not telling the truth in an interview. Fans did it. ETC. --- I think it is really important to separate between the fan posts/tweets and what has actually been said/tweeted by Adam. If you are on the "Adam knows he has this and got it in July and is just lying to us cause he can't tell us" team, fine. But IF HE DOES NOT GET IDOL, don't blame Adam for teasing us about it --- because he really hasn't been teasing anyone. --- I am on team possible and I think the odds for Adam getting an Idol judge slot have gone up in the past week. I used to think he was a long-shot. Now I think the odds are about even he could get it.
They have Mariah, Nicki and Keith Urban. They almost certainly want 2 men. (Scratch Miley, Fergie, etc.) Nick Jonas is off to X-Factor. Hip-Hop is covered with Mariah. (So scratch Kanye, Diddy, etc.) That leaves Enrique (Latin audience appeal) and Adam in the mix -- or someone who is not being talked about. (maybe a rocker Slash, Bret Michaels, or a Brit). And yes, I think Adam would be great! But this is not the only path for him. This is probably going to be 2 more weeks -- since they are likely to announce only after they have all the deals done and on top of The Voice premiere. At no point did I say Adam was responsible for the teases or endless conjectures fans make. He is responsible for his answers to questions about Idol, however. Now, admittedly, I don't keep a spreadsheet of his interviews and I've been out of the country for two weeks, but at no point do I recall him saying, "No comment" or "Not going to happen." But in any case, all I said was that I'm tired of the teases. And it's not just about Idol, it's about how I feel that this era has been one big tease (the endless attempts to request the singles that went nowhere, etc). So yeah, I feel frustrated, then add to that the "I'm bullshitting you all" tweet that was from him, that I loathe people "bullshitting" me, and the fact that my carbon monoxide detector went crazy last night and was beeping for hours and yeah, I get irritated this morning. But I've gotten the message from y'all, thanks. Have fun.

I don't think he knows as much as we think and he said that many times -lots of stuff is not planned and just happens at the last moment. Re BS in tweets: he said his "FEED" has BS - I read it as BS tweets coming his way and NOT that HE HIMSELF TWEETS BS. I can't see how it can be interpreted that he is tweeting BS.

nica
My tweeter feed means HIS tweets.
ETA Having said that I believe Adam is giving us what he can like you said and he's certainly allowed to make jokes and talk BS. It's not his problem that some fans are taking every tweet of his very seriously and literally.
