ITA with every word. Having said that - WHY did they keep Randy for all these years? He brought a huge ZERO to the panel, no charisma, no speaking ability, nada. Simon was the attraction Paula had lots of entertainment value, Kara understood what she heard and gave reasonable advice, Randy was the black dude with no descernable input. Now they want "stars" regardless of anything else... Of course they need a person with an "accent" preferably British (well I guess AU will do) = respectability :  , two set of huge boobs = obvious attraction : , and I have no idea what else advertisers need... the thing is I doubt they want a gay guy - what audience does he attract?
I am really talking myself out of any possibility of this thing happening... better go do something useful... Dear UNIVERSE! MAKE THIS STOP! uhm....he attracts whoever would enjoy watching a gorgeous, articulate, funny, intelligent, knowledgeable ...did I say hella gorgeous?...man. ;D (I do feel your pain though...haha! this stringout is getting tedious)  to the bolded part ... I know you all know deep in your heart that if Adam does not get Idol, it was not meant to be. So far, the universe has been damn good to Adam and is watching out for him. If he is not a judge, there must be a good reason. It could be that Idol only has one more year with all these other talent shows coming on board. Who knows? Life is a mystery and is going to remain so. But I know from experience of living all these years that when one door slams shut, it is because another door is getting ready to open. And that other door is usually better than the one that closed. You know I am right.

It does come down to ratings and getting the right demo and amount of viewers they are shooting for. How do you do that? You have a show that people want to watch. Steven should have been highly entertaining, but he was the dullest of dull! Jlo wasn't worth what they were paying her either! Randy is and always has been overpaid and a terrible judge. AI wants and NEEDS personalities on that panel! They need some crazy. some loopy, some drama, some eye candy, some sweetness and some good advisers. They want all this in a package that will retain their old viewers, bring back the ones who have left and get new (younger) viewers. Then, these judges need to have chemistry, because that is when viewers really enjoy watching. Lastly, they need to make sure that these four choices stay within their budget. When you look at all the factors and consider that this is the #1 rated (non-sports) show in the US, this is an important multi-million dollar decision and not one that the producers are taking lightly. A bad decision could cost them millions of dollars!  ITA with every word. Having said that - WHY did they keep Randy for all these years? Adam came in second,he has loads of folks who would love to see him.. He's been on Idol since show 8.. and from what I read ,Idol did very well when he was on as mentor,as guest singer,etc. He is an international star and idol is seen by many folks overseas and then of course there is the gay community.If gay men haven't been as appreciative as they could be, the Lesbian Community seems to love Adam and last but not least his FANS.That's a lot of people in my book. |

He is the only ex contestant they have ever used as a mentor. That alone speaks volumes to me. And, he has been hailed by fans and press as one of the best mentors of that season. 3. Idol needs to send out the signal that they are "gay friendly." With The Voice and XF highlighting gay contestnats, Idol has come under fire as hiding them. 4. Idol needs a link to the "history" of the show on the panel. Randy is gone, I am positive. Adam is that link. He knows Idol. |

LOL  Tons of female celebrities have big boobs now, because they can be bought! Big boobs are a dime a dozen in the current entertainment world! Nicki is a respected female rapper and has some big hits and impressive album numbers for a new artist. Mariah is one of the top 10 best-selling music artists OF ALL TIME, having sold over 200 MILLION albums. I know that you are not familiar with anyone outside of classical music, but instead of defining a woman artist like Mariah by her body parts, you might want to look at what she has accomplished in the music world: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artistsAs you can see, Mariah is in good company. She is well-respected for her vocal ability and songwriting skills. She is considered a legend in the music world- not just Pop music. If being a successful music artist was about boobs, Kim Kardashian's song would have shot straight to #1! Now... why Randy? There was no reason to fix something that wasn't broken in seasons 1-6. By season 8, they brought in new judges because season six lost viewers as the season went along and season 7 was at an all time low. The ratings kept dropping, and then Simon left, so they had to retool the panel for season 10. AI wanted to keep a familiar face for the long time viewers and brought in two judges that would appeal to their existing base, yet bring in new viewers. It worked, until it became obvious that the judges were boring and there wasn't any real chemistry. I don't think they are going to make the same mistake with Randy again. At this point, he has probably priced himself out of the running anyway. He would have to take a pay cut to even be considered. |

OK. Haven't heard one of the most the most obvious reasons that Adam should be chosen. Our guy is a f*****g media magnet. Now I may be talking from a state of total ignorance but does the media and twitter blow up when ANY of the others wear a kind of a red furry thing or just take off their damn jacket. We are talking a little pinky with more buzz and charisma than even some stars have in their whole package. And speaking of package......
They would be nuts to pass him up. If they think " oh, we can try him next time", think again AI folks! Carpe diem. That boy may be too hot, too busy and too expensive next time you come calling.

If the rumor about Urban is true (and I think it is) why would you not expect Adam to get about the same amount of $$? Because he's not as big as Urban? You misunderstood. Q3 said she thought DMG was negoatiating more for Adam. My point was exactly what you said, why would Adam get more? If Urban is getting 3-4 million, I certainly would not expect Adam to be holding out for 5! |

I never (or at least) rarely comment on the Idol thing because QUÉ SERA SERA but seriously, I'm on my last leg here right now. I just want a decision.
