I wonder if Adam will drop NCOE from the setlist now? I certainly hope so. He dropped BTKIM, NCOE MUST GO to never be heard again. I'd like a BTIKM comeback, but after that radio tour he's probably tired of it. The plugged live versions were amazing, all two of them. ETA: But yeah agree with "never be heard again" re: NCOE. Replace it with a bonus track? :D

Yes, tigerlily! Absolutely agree! The layers of Adam backing Adam are special! well - for those who hate his backup singers when he sings live, perhaps he could clone himself a few times and just back himself. Personally, to me a concert without live backup singers loses excitement and life. What should he do, plant himself in front of a tape player and do a concert that way? No band and no backup singers? I don't get it. [/IMG] I don't get it. :-/
Please don't put words in my mouth.I don't hate his back up singers! I have never ever said that! I have been amongst their biggest supporters and when I was one of the few people who had heard them live, NNN and Kimmel, I was the first to come to their support all the time. Talking about backing tracks really has nothing to do with liking or not liking the back up singers. For me it has more to do with the backing sounds and special effects a studio can get that the live instruments can't.

It made #17 on HAC, so I am sure a lot of people would know it at his shows.

NCOE needs to stay, IMO. He kills it live! Actually, my one and only real hope for the shows is that he makes them longer. 90 minutes minimum.

He seemed fine with the lower key he used at Ellen and Leno though.

But if you don't like their sound at his concerts, what would you suggest he do? Have them there but not allow them to sing backup to some songs and use backing tapes instead? Not have them there at all. What?

Yeah...not seeing anything close to the last era on those either. This era just hasn't been as successful in the US or internationally. :( Someone with better eyes help me out here! I haven't checked the iTunes charts in a few weeks and now I can't find Adam! Can anyone else find his name? kworb.net/itunes/He's been in the Top 10 during long period of times around Europe. Of course lately, it's winding down. Wouldn't call that a flop. Doing well. I'm not comparing era's. That would be ridiculous. He had nowhere near as much buzz this time around Didn't say anything about being a "flop". Adam has not had a Top 10 song, for any substantial length of time, in any of the bigger markets internationally this era. Two or three countries does not add up to "international star". That doesn't mean Adam is a flop or this era is a flop, it just means that (as a whole) his international presence or sales are not bigger than his presence or sales here in the US. If the whole Idol gig doesn't work out, I do believe that promoting more internationally is the way to go. Just a thought- many countries have singing contest shows like The Voice. The US version of Idol doesn't mind having non-US citizens. Do other countries have artists, who aren't citizens of their country, on the judging panel?

You guys ...
There is a huge conceptual difference between playing music live and playing a recording. It doesn't make sense to compare them.
Listening to a recording, you can appreciate the computer generated instrumentation, or backing tracks. It sounds better. It sounds the way the artist intended it to sound. It is about listening to sound. It is for the ears and brain.
At a live show, it is all about expression. The song may wildly differ from the record due to expression. There is stage presence and a show and the infinity between the singer, the band, and the audience. It is about listening to music. It is for the body!
This should not even be an argument because both are good. It is like debating whether restaurant food or home cooking is the best.
My 2 cents.
