Yeah I'm team #AdamCanAndWillBeAMegastarOnHisOwnWithoutAnyHelp What's Idol , anyways ?? It's just a stupid show . STUPID . At first I wanted the Idol gig for him , but now I think it's stupid . And don't come at me saying "Oh Idol is the only hope for Adam , Idol will help him be a superstar" NO . look at Mariah and her new single . I think the only good thing that happened to Mariah on this gig is the load of money they paid her . But success ? nope . I haven't even seen the "Champion" music video here in Syria . Or was it "triumphant" ?? Whatevs . It's stupid . Trespassing is gonna rise on it's own . It's on radio on a important (I guess?) radio channel , even before the radio adds were announced , has this happened to any other single off of trespassing ? Without Idol I'm 100% sure you wouldn't know who Adam even is, even if you've never watched a single episode of the show. That "stupid" show is what brought Adam into the livingrooms of 25+ million people every week and that "stupid" show is what gave him the opportunity to have the career he's having right this very minute. That "stupid" show needs Mariah much more than she needs it. She's a worldwide superstar and whatever lull in her career she's experiencing now does nothing to detract from the decades of hits she has in her catalog. As for radio, maybe they'll play trespassing maybe they won't. Who knows. Personally I don't think Trespassing is as radio friendly as some of the other songs on the album but I'm no expert so whatever. Whatever happens with Idol Adam will continue to be fine. Will his career get a big boost if he's on the show? common sense and history says of course it will. Does he need it to survive? No I don't think he does but it would certainly help push him to another level which is where he wants to be. Whoah , calm down , honey . Yes , maybe the show gave him visibility , but you can't deny the show is indeed STUPID with capital letters because , in the end , it wasn't HE who won . Yes Idle OPENED the door . that fine . Doesn't mean he has to stick with it to the very end of his career , since they didn't even give his deserved crown in the first place . And what would you call a TALENT show that is SUPPOSED to give opportunities to hopeful singers but instead just blows up the judges' careers ?? isn't it stupid ? what about the poor contestants ?? Adam is here for his TALENT . Where is Kris Allen ?? he was on the same show , same season , same visibility , he had THE SAME OPPORTUNITY , WON THE COMPETITION , and he is nowhere to be seen . The show is stupid . Adam does NOT need to be on that show again . |

Well I'm not gonna lie - I still want Idol for him. See, I don't think it's just a stupid show. Exposure to millions every week is invaluable and definitely not stupid.
However, if he doesn't get it, I'll be sad for a day or two or ten and then move on. Such is life. 8-)

I have so many yea and nay opinions about the Idol job. I hope Adam gets what he wants -- whatever that is! Idol would definately be a circus. The whole launch of (I hope I get the names right) The Voice and So You Think You Have Talent has become quite ridiculous -- Britney vs. Xtina. Who cares. I can see the same dynamic with Idol -- Mariah vs. Niki. If Niki or Keith have signed with Idol, it can't be a bad thing for Adam. They are both very well known and successful and it can't hurt Adam to network with them. As far as the circus, Adam would have fun with that in his "pop culture" way. (Keep your eye on the prize.) I have a friend who has been looking for work and she has tried everything just to get a call back (it's all in who you know -- heard that before?). She has a saying -- "let's just throw all the doors and windows wide open to see what blows in!" I sense that Adam is doing the same thing. I think he may realize that it's about more then the music in today's pop culture climate. I think he's very focused on the "entertainment industry" and not necessarily just the "music department" -- for being as supremely creative as he is it suprises me how practical and realistic his career approach can be. I do want the very best for him whatever that turns out to be.
