Without Idol I'm 100% sure you wouldn't know who Adam even is, even if you've never watched a single episode of the show. That "stupid" show is what brought Adam into the livingrooms of 25+ million people every week and that "stupid" show is what gave him the opportunity to have the career he's having right this very minute. That "stupid" show needs Mariah much more than she needs it. She's a worldwide superstar and whatever lull in her career she's experiencing now does nothing to detract from the decades of hits she has in her catalog. As for radio, maybe they'll play trespassing maybe they won't. Who knows. Personally I don't think Trespassing is as radio friendly as some of the other songs on the album but I'm no expert so whatever. Whatever happens with Idol Adam will continue to be fine. Will his career get a big boost if he's on the show? common sense and history says of course it will. Does he need it to survive? No I don't think he does but it would certainly help push him to another level which is where he wants to be. Whoah , calm down , honey . Yes , maybe the show gave him visibility , but you can't deny the show is indeed STUPID with capital letters because , in the end , it wasn't HE who won . Yes Idle OPENED the door . that fine . Doesn't mean he has to stick with it to the very end of his career , since they didn't even give his deserved crown in the first place . And what would you call a TALENT show that is SUPPOSED to give opportunities to hopeful singers but instead just blows up the judges' careers ?? isn't it stupid ? what about the poor contestants ?? Adam is here for his TALENT . Where is Kris Allen ?? he was on the same show , same season , same visibility , he had THE SAME OPPORTUNITY , WON THE COMPETITION , and he is nowhere to be seen . The show is stupid . Adam does NOT need to be on that show again .  At this point who gives a crap..If Adam is on the show, no matter how. great! ,If not... moving on. Yes Adam got famous because of the show and the PR.,but the show is what it is .It's not fine art And btw I do believe that we are all entitled to our opinion without being slammed. I mean Idol is a show not a relative or friend. GEEZ. Back to the important: getting Trespassing to be a HIT. all else fading into the background for now. Focus Melliemom,Focus |

A few random thoughts about Idol -- scroll alert....
1. Why does FOX think Enrique will appeal to Latino/Hispanic fans when JLo apparently did not do anything? Enrique is a much bigger star within Latin music. JLo was first a dancer, then film star and than an American recording artist who started her recording career in English and recently recorded music in Spanish for the Latin artist. Enrique is a Spanish language artist which massive success across Latin America with Latino and Hispanic audiences -- who crossed over to mainstream English language music long after he was the #1 selling Latin artist across the Americas.
2. Idol 2013 is not as important and powerful as Idol 2006-2007 (peak of popularity) or even Idol 2009 (Adam's year) but it is still the #1series in the US and a huge promotional platform. If you Love Idol or Hate Idol or are somewhere in between, you have to respect any show that draws 16 to 20 million people a week.
3. As far as I can tell, Idol/FOX have one judge -- Mariah. The rest of the info is sources albeit some reliable sources.
4. Adam clearly wants the Idol slot. He surely went in to this knowing there were no guarantees he would get a slot.
5. "It's not over, till it's over." So far they only have one judge announced. If the rumored offer to Enrique is real, and I think it probably is, he still has not said yes.
ETA: If they are up to $10-$12 million range for Enrique -- I think this is over.

We have known that they were chasing Enrique. If FOX really went up to $10-$12 million this is over.
BUT....
I am sure Adam has some stuff planned and Trespassing will be promoted.
