I think this is the first time anyone has come out and actually said that Idol has offered Enrique the spot. That was new to me. Along with the specifics on money. I think it is pretty clear that Idol really wants Enrique. The big question is will he/did he accept. No, IMO, it is not very clear. All the info was recycled. "In negotiations" has been used before. To me, offered is just rewording. The 4 million price for everyone after NM has been used before. Again, the same rumors with no comments from FOX/Idol. The only difference is that this is the 2nd article in 2 days that has brought Adam back into the mix. All the same rumors with some enhancement IMO. And it has been clear since August 17 when Shirley Halperin reported it that "sources at FOX" wanted Enrique. What is interesting to me is that they may not have a "yes" from him.

Here is one paragraph about why negotiations with Brad broke down. There was another one where the writer specifically questioned if other stars would sign for less than NM. It was one of the reasons why we had a big discussion on if Enrique would take it for 3-4 million.
Urban, who told an Australian radio station that he was in talks to join Idol, has agreed to take a third seat for a salary of $3 million to $4 million, according to the source. Former country contender Brad Paisley apparently dropped out of the conversation because he wanted to match Minaj's pay scale, which was a nonstarter with Idol brass.

(This was the interview he did with JLo about their tour.)

That is exactly what the last rumor from EW said. Once again, I agree with you that we have a bunch of rumors so far, but today's EW article was new information. It could be BS, but it was still NEW.

Whatever happens with Idol -- I hope people do not really panic. Fans do not know what is going on -- but Adam and his management know. I am sure they have promotional plans in place and his management team has not just sitting around hoping he gets an Idol judge slot. Personally, and I know this is a minority opinion, part of me wants him to get Idol but part of me is hoping that he does not get wrapped up in Idol. And yes, I understand the promotional exposure benefits. Even diminished, 16 million viewers is a lot of viewers. But I still have mixed feelings.WHAT I DO NOT HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT IS TRESPASSING! I am thrilled that Adam finally has one of his own songs as a single, a song that he wrote and that he really wants to see be a hit. I hope he gets to perform it on both Idol and X-Factor no matter how this plays out. X-Factor to kick it off and Idol after it is a mega hit!!
^^^^^ especially to the bold part! You're definitely not alone, Q3.
I brought it up in yesterday's thread that I was wondering if Adam would take a consolation prize on X-Factor as a mentor, should such an offer be extended to him.
And, mys*&@^#r, you are my "Morpheus"! I Adore You So!!

I think Adam is already moving on from Idol with the release of the single before the logistics, code word for Idol, happened. I hope I am wrong because Idol would be a huge, huge help for his career.

All the same rumors with some enhancement IMO. And it has been clear since August 17 when Shirley Halperin reported it that "sources at FOX" wanted Enrique. (This was the interview he did with JLo about their tour.) There is one big reason why Idol wants Enrique -- they want a Latino star. And who else is there? Ricky Martin signed with NBC and has a series. Marc Anthony signed with X-Factor. Pitbill would be too expenses and is another rapper. Why a Latin star? There are over 50 million Latino/Hispanic Americans. -- When I say there is nothing new in the report, I mean on 8/17 -- Idol was warming up seat #4 for Enrique and they still are. ETA: The announcement of Trespassing by 102.9 NOW -- was timed to support the Texas Tango promotion. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. I do not think it was related to Idol one way or the other. One thing is consistent in the three main Idol rumor reports -- EW, THR and TMZ -- 3 of the rumored 4 Idol judges are not signed.
