9.7.12 Trespassing radio premiere, Fashion Police

Idol - Schmidol...Worryberts are worrying. Read through the thread and this is what I read about all the worrying

If Adam gets it, here is the list:

- we worry about him being part of a sinking ship without enough influence to turn it around all by himself
- we worry about him being part of a cray ensemble of judges. People saying: This judging panel is a mess will reflect on him too.
- we worry about every sentence he says and how others are perceiving him visually as well as in his judging role.
- we worry about how he is distracted from other possible activities (QAL, other concerts, etc.)
- we worry about his image being further tied to idol
- we worry about actually having to watch that show


If Adam does not get it, here is the alternative:

- we worry about how he can get better promoted
- how he will turn his album profitable
- how he can influence the one-sided image that many in US have of him
- we worry about whatever the next project is he is engaged in

Are we not all worried out? .....Time to just let go and take it as it comes, because we cannot change it one way or the other anyhow, and meanwhile we are missing out on the fun of

Trespassing single,
Grammy noms,
a much more promising start on radio,
fashion week and
tons of other goodies.

I think things are looking far too good to be so down.


Adam's life will go on. Will he be disappointed? Probably. But I am also pretty sure that he will figure out how to shake it off and move on.

So will I. I can live with either result. The idol route seemed like the express lane. If he has to take the regular lanes, he will arrive too.

Now looking at it from an AI perspective:
I thought that idol/Fox executives were smart cookies. Looks right now that they might be more stupid than I thought.

If NM, KU, MC and Enrique are the judges, I predict the ship will sink further. Ratings-wise and reputation wise. They will not get any Latin Am. market because of Enrique. No way!
And hip-hop folks will not care either, certainly not enough to sit at 8 pm on Tue and Wed or whatever in front of their TV sets.

And the chaos on the panel is going to disenfranchise regular long term watchers, who won't have the stomach for Nicki and MC escapades.

So, there you have my prediction for idol. You take Nicki out of the equation and the show has at least a better chance at equal or better ratings. With her, I think the ship is going to sink fast. Looks like her own judgement in the matter is actually better than that of the producers. lol

As many have said. This is not over. I wonder actually why Nicki and Enrique are dragging this out and are not just saying one way or the other.
Not like they can't find other ways to be in the news. Oh well....on to other topics.

The Prophet in his own country.....

Enrique may be a laughing stock for many in Spain, yet in the US and many other countries he is appreciated.

Schwarzenegger is laughed at in Austria, and most folks are embarrassed that he is the most known representative of our country these days, yet, in US he became enormously successful, married into the Kennedy family, got rich, ran for political office in a state multiple times the size of whole Austria, actually won that election and now seems to be able to transition back into acting. In Austria he would have never achieved any of this.

The Huff is laughed at in US, yet he is (or was) very successful in Germany. Baywatch was watched on both sides, though.

There are many such examples. Sometimes a person has something to offer that one country values or longs for and another country does not. Sometimes it is that everybody seems to be most critical or embarrassed of their own kind.

Perhaps even a super talent like Adam will have to break overseas before he will be fully appreciated in his own home country, who knows. Right now, I don't get the impression that mainstream America is really ready or able to appreciate what he has to offer. But I am sure, one day they will get it.

Just because MOST PEOPLE think something, does not mean that the remaining market cannot be sufficient for a mega career, platinum records, fame and fortune. Tastes and opinions have become quite fragmented over time all over the globe.

Platinum albums do not prove penetration of the whole population of a country. Neither does the eye-roll of a certain group or even a majority of a country mean that there can't be success at the same time. These are independent methods of measurements or independent arguments.
