I am so glad Adam has so many fan videos to watch tonight. If he happens to feel blue about Idol, those obviously made with love videos should chase away the blues.

In the a case like this does a gag order usually just stop one from saying that you got a job, or could it keep one from saying that they didn't get a job as well. I think Adam thought he was in the running pretty late in the game. Judging by some recent articles so did some press. Just very odd and really wish there was a way to know what went wrong. I don't think anything went "wrong". There are hundreds of different variables to be taken into account. This is the nature of the business (and of job hunting). For every "Yes" there are hundred of "Nos". At least he got free media out of it.

I didn't get any emails telling me what Nigel Lythgoe said to the AI contestants. :(
I keep trying to figure out who would benefit from giving Katie Couric inside info about the new AI judges. She certainly got a lot of press for today's interview with JLo from the scoop. Could JLo have given KC the tip and then acted all innocent?
Anyway, I am still waiting for the official announcement and wondering whether Adam will ever say anything more about AI.

I think Adam thought he was in the running pretty late in the game. Judging by some recent articles so did some press. Just very odd and really wish there was a way to know what went wrong. Just IMO.... Here is what I believe went down based on all the hints over the past few months, all the gossip and all the conjecturing based on SOME fact: 1. Adam was approached early on...and gave an affirmative that he WAS interested 2. Idol approached a lot of other celebs as they tried to ascertain what kind of panel they were looking for, who was available, who was interested 3. Before EI was wanted, Adam was likely in the top tier. Idol seemed to have wanted Mariah & NM from the beginning. And they wanted a country dude. Adam/DMG may have felt some good karma at this point...as WE ALL DID. But, I hesitate to think any "promises" were made to Adam. 4. Adam and his management felt there was a chance...maybe even a good one & decided not to book anything that would interfer with Idol obligations and couldn't be easily cancelled if he got the Idol gig. Not a surprise...and def a CHOICE made by Adam and his team. 5. So, here we are...Idol got Mariah, NM & KU...after being turned down by Brad Paisley. The plan was to move Randy and 1st choice for chair 4 appeared to be EI. (That was when I began to feel Adam wasn't going to happen). 6. EI, who was probably a fave pick among the producers turned them down. Enter Randy...who decided he wasn't giving up his chair. And he had a contract. Exit Adam. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My point being in this long (sorry ) post...yes, Idol waffled and wiggled and changed their minds dozens of times. BUT, I don't believe that they held Adam's feet to the fire and prevented him from booking other gigs. That was a choice he & his management made...and I am sure they have things on the back burner to fill those open weeks. And just maybe, since he's "the hardest working guy in the business" he just needs some time off to chill and start thinking about a Trespassing Tour and a few Queenbert dates.

I presume that Adam cannot say anything, because if he would, it would finalize any speculation and be like an unofficial announcement. If he has it, he cannot announce and if he does not, he also cannot, because that would be a de facto announcement that Randy is in seat number 4.
I just think that they strung Adam along til the end and that just is low. Adam needs such nerves to be in this business. If I had a job interview and knew that thousands were watching every move and word, I would be a wreck.
Luckily he has a few other opportunities lined up. And he certainly made a major dent in the fashion world this week, I think there will be more people waking up the the fact that he is knowledgeable, personable, a ratings magnet. The Paris Hilton and Adam pictures were everywhere and in the interest of both celebrities. Lots of smart moves there and Adam will start doing more cross promotion with roles in Fashion, TV shows (PLL) and in Music. Add to that the whole Queen world, and his own album roll-out and I think he has a lot going for himself and can watch that idol ship float without his name tied to the ticket.
But I totally agree with everyone. This anticipated panel seems dysfunctional and an announcement of it is about as anti-climatic, as can be.
Somewhere I still expect/hope that Idol has some surprise in their pocket. We'll see whether Adam has anything to do with it. I am not sure anymore whether I even want it for him, especially if it is a lesser role than judge. I mean, if he wants it, I am of course all happy for him, but looking at it from the outside, this idol show is in bad shape.
On to voting for Trespassing wherever I can, B104, etc. Gotta get back into the swing of things there.

I have received multiple reports (3) from Idol contestants or their family members who were invited to the NYC Judges' Audition Round on Sunday 9/16 and Monday 9/17. Two report that Nigel told them they would be singing for Mariah, Nicki, Keith and Randy. >> I wanted to wait until I had more than one report before I posted because I wanted to be more certain. >> This is still not final but I think it is pretty close. In 2010 they officially announced the judges at the first judges' round in LA -- on a Wednesday 9/22/12. So perhaps they decided to do this on in NY on a Sunday? And that makes more sense than late Friday. Not official yet. May be official on Sunday. Would Nigel be above telling a lie FIB about who will be present Sunday? 2 hours before FOX announced Mariah, Nigel was talking about JLo coming back. So he was either not in the loop, or he was lying! I can not belueve I am jumping back in with both feet! But no one knows if Adam is back in LA. We were all just asssuming. But.....No pics @ either airport. No airport tweeting spree. No Goodbye to NYC. No Home Sweet Home. No tweet about our heat wave! Minaj's tweet was the first thing that turned me back around. She didn't say, "Not today" "Maybe later" or "Sunday" No! What she said was: "Go to bed. NVM. :( " WTF does NVM mean?! Whenever I thought about Randy as a judge, I always felt it would only happen if the NM deal fell through. I still have a hard time believing that COKE approved her. YES, I AM ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would anyone tell JLo anything about Idol? And Katie had nothing new vs. what was reported on 9.11.12. Why would Nigel tell contestants who the judges are before it is announced? Somehow I have a feeling that everything is not done -- and that there are some surprises FOX is holding back. Regarding Adam not saying anything, perhaps he can't say anything. Pharrell has also not said anything. ETA: Nicki deal may not have been done BUT Coke and Pepsi both agreed it was OK. It is not impossible for them to have Nicki and Randy as judges but it seems odd. It may be that they go back to 3 judges. Mariah, Keith and Randy. Mariah gets to be the star in the middle and the only woman on the panel.
