We discussed about this yesterday. TMZ didn't give the complete story so it's taken out of context. :-/

Gale Whittington þ@GaleChester SoundCloud by @galechester 94.7 Fresh FM Darik Krstofer Interview w ADAM LAMBERT 9-21-12 Telephone Interview via... fb.me/1T8M1B7Qx Oh, man! That cut off precisely where I would have loved for him to continue. He says that to be really helpful in your feedback to a singer you have to understand technically what they are doing. That's the meat of what Adam could contribute better than most any singer in pop music today. His understanding of the techniques of singing. I would kill to have heard him elaborate on that. Rats! Adam would definitely be much better at that than Nicki or Randy. Keith has the potential to bring something interesting to the panel, as he is an excellent instrumentalist. Then there is Mariah who is a technically trained vocalist who writes songs and has been a producer for other artists. These two together have been in the music business for many years. Now, whether or not they are going to use their vast musical knowledge and their many years of experience to point out technical issues in the contestants' performances remains to be seen. It's too bad they decided not to add Adam to a panel with these two. It would have been a talented and knowledgeable group!

I think I was not clear in my intent on my original post. Let me try again. If Adam were asked the most significant thing he recalls about being twelve years old, I believe it would be his beginning awareness of his sexual orientation. Given his statements in other interviews about how he felt at that time, I believe it was a difficult time and a major experience in his life. And there was an interview where he said flat out that in the seventh grade he had NO friends and he dreaded lunch hour. I will try to find the YT of it. My point was, as open and honest and self-revealing as Adam is, he also understands there is the proper time and place for it. This children's program was not it. So, instead, he chooses a light, amusing memory. I think it also had the subtle subtext of saying that the roots of his fabulous-ness were already present at 12, so you can achieve your dreams, too. Just my thoughts and interpretations. It was meant as praise for Adam's acumen, not as criticism or complaint. Cassie, you forgot to mention that the ??? question marks were not like [/IMG] question marks but more like [/IMG] question marks. I think you made good points about this man who says "I don't have a filter," because as we see every day oh yes he does. For the technically minded of us I'm going to use the Excel definition of "filter". You use an Excel filter when you have a large amount of data at your disposal, ready to use at any time. However different people want to only see different parts of the data. Some might only want data that was created in the last year, others only data that is asociated with the color orange, and others who would only like to hear about the data that is both purple and expensive. A filter allows you to input the criteria and present only the data relevant to the requester. Adam's "I don't have a filter" statement is more like "I don't have a permanent filter" or "I don't have a filter that is imposed from the outside". For those people who are looking for both purple and expensive he might just decide that expensive is elitist and take it or leave it he might go, "I'll filter down to purple honey but some of the best things are free." Sometimes he forgets his criteria. Take the AMAs. If he'd gone first that night the filter would have been firmly in place. But he watched the show and the "only women can get away with it" filter went down the drain with Gaga's whiskey. But usually it's an amazingly accurate and blazingly fast mechanism.
So true about the whiskey bottles and him feeling a challenge to be outrageous (btw, I thought watching it live that the whiskey bottles were stupidly literal, lol).

But, Q3, do you know why Brian would be tweeting? Are you saying that Brian might be tweeting on behalf of Barry Squire? No. If Brian is doing this for Adam -- which makes sense because he is Adam's music director. Brian is the one who would work with Barry Squire to find a drummer. Brian is tweeting it to get the word out. It might be for someone else -- they both have also worked for Rihanna -- but not as a MD. THE ADAM CONNECTION IS AN ASSUMPTION. ETA: Brian is Musical Director for Bruno Mars, Adam Lambert, Taio Cruz, Jason Derulo, John West, Andy Grammer. Of that list only Adam has worked with Barry Squire. Brian plays keys for Rihanna and would not be seeking a new musician for her. I believe this is for Adam. Thanks. Makes sense but I am in awe of you making all those connections. Whew!

People keep assuming that Idol decided to pass on Adam but it appears that Shirley Halperin may have been accurate when she reported on 8/17/12 that Adam was a "big star" who was not interested in Idol. A few Finnish fans have said that Sauli indicated that Adam was not interested in doing Idol in yesterday's Tutka Roadshow. Hopefully we will have a translation soon. Unless someone has a source for Idol passing on Adam, it remain an assumption -- and is looking more like a wrong assumption.
