Steven Tyler dishes on 'Idol,' Aerosmith music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/steven-tyler-why-joined-quit-american-idol-233049983.html"You could equate it maybe to a band, but a band has to get into a fight and argue to break up. Television, it's just the next moment. The producers are watching that and instead of going, 'This is great,' they're thinking about how to make it greater the next year...they just look at the numbers and go, 'We need to change something,'" Steven explained. "So in the sense of that, it came around the month that I used to get phone calls, and I went, 'Wait a minute.' I called Randy [Jackson] and I said, 'What's going on? Am I getting thrown off?' He goes, 'They haven't called me...' And then I called Jennifer [Lopez], and she goes, 'I don't know what I'm doing.' So there was a month of huh? So finally one day I just went, 'It just don't feel right. I'm quittin' now.' Then the next morning Jennifer quit, so what does that tell you? It just didn't feel right."

Adam would definitely be much better at that than Nicki or Randy. Keith has the potential to bring something interesting to the panel, as he is an excellent instrumentalist. Then there is Mariah who is a technically trained vocalist who writes songs and has been a producer for other artists. These two together have been in the music business for many years. Now, whether or not they are going to use their vast musical knowledge and their many years of experience to point out technical issues in the contestants' performances remains to be seen. It's too bad they decided not to add Adam to a panel with these two. It would have been a talented and knowledgeable group! People keep assuming that Idol decided to pass on Adam but it appears that Shirley Halperin may have been accurate when she reported on 8/17/12 that Adam was a "big star" who was not interested in Idol. A few Finnish fans have said that Sauli indicated that Adam was not interested in doing Idol in yesterday's Tutka Roadshow. Hopefully we will have a translation soon. Unless someone has a source for Idol passing on Adam, it remain an assumption -- and is looking more like a wrong assumption. If that's what happen, guess it makes sense that Adam didn't say anything. Either way, Adam couldn't and won't say anything since he has to maintain that good relationships with Fox/Idol.

But, Q3, do you know why Brian would be tweeting? Are you saying that Brian might be tweeting on behalf of Barry Squire? No. If Brian is doing this for Adam -- which makes sense because he is Adam's music director. Brian is the one who would work with Barry Squire to find a drummer. Brian is tweeting it to get the word out. It might be for someone else -- they both have also worked for Rihanna -- but not as a MD. THE ADAM CONNECTION IS AN ASSUMPTION. ETA: Brian is Musical Director for Bruno Mars, Adam Lambert, Taio Cruz, Jason Derulo, John West, Andy Grammer. Of that list only Adam has worked with Barry Squire. Brian plays keys for Rihanna and would not be seeking a new musician for her. I believe this is for Adam. Isaac is drummer for another band, Duff McKagan's Loaded, that has tour dates starting in October. See duff-loaded.com/thetaking/tours/

OMG - this is the brilliant, sophisticated, filtered, geeky, dorky, silly, absolutely adorable Adam we've been discussing. It seems to me one of his best traits in the ability to live in the moment.

LOL Adam was thrilled about the possibility for several weeks and was "stressing about it" a week before they announced Randy and two weeks AFTER Shirley's article on 8/17/12. Adam wanted the job, I don't care where Shirley Halperin put him in her little graph.

So do you think he changed his mind in the last week, before the announcement, or do you think he lied when he said how much he would like to do it? I would love to think that he turned it down, but his interviews and tweets point to him wanting it!
