Yup, I definitely think Adam said no I hope this is the case. However, if so, why all the teasing about whether he got the "green light" (which I still wonder if it had been a miscommunication or maybe even a different interpretation of what that implies--something that is inevitable but just waiting for elements to be in place or proper protocol to be followed, similar to a traffic light) and crossing fingers in Tweets? Many of Adam's comments did not reference Idol. Fans made the connection. For example -- at WinStar he said he would be back in the area soon. He never mentioned Idol. Fans connected it to the Idol judges round in Oklahoma. Then we learned he was performing at Texas Tango. My GUESS is that when he was in Japan they were working out the details of a second Asia-Pacific trip including the two performances we know about -- and The Voice of China Final is a big deal. I think it counts as stuff.

People keep assuming that Idol decided to pass on Adam but it appears that Shirley Halperin may have been accurate when she reported on 8/17/12 that Adam was a "big star" who was not interested in Idol. A few Finnish fans have said that Sauli indicated that Adam was not interested in doing Idol in yesterday's Tutka Roadshow. Hopefully we will have a translation soon. Unless someone has a source for Idol passing on Adam, it remain an assumption -- and is looking more like a wrong assumption. LOL Adam was thrilled about the possibility for several weeks and was "stressing about it" a week before they announced Randy and two weeks AFTER Shirley's article on 8/17/12. Adam wanted the job, I don't care where Shirley Halperin put him in her little graph. I don't think Adam was really "stressing" about the Idol decision. When I read that twitter party on twitter it was obvious to me that most of this tweets were wise crack humor much in sync with his natural sense of humor that both he and his father and brother share. When I came over to ATop and saw that people were stressing out over Adam stressing out about Idol I thought WTF, don't they know he was just being facetious. It's like in the Boy George interview Adam posted yesterday where he said that people in the U.S. took everything too literally and couldn't figure out when something was said in jest. When I was vacationing with my Dad and his friends this summer, one of them asked my why I didn't take my Dad seriously. I said because he is just joking around. His friend asked how I knew and I said because I've know him all my life and can tell. If my Dad's friends, who spend several weeks a year with him can't tell, then I can understand that it is very difficulty for most people who are not in tune with this wise crack type of humor to not pick up on it readily, especially when it is just in written form.
