A couple of things I wanted to say about yesterday's conversation.  If Sauli has inside info about how the American reality TV shows work, maybe he shouldn't have said anything? :-/ It could be detrimental for Adam, especially because I think it's in his benefit to be on good terms with Idol/Fox. If he was talking hypothetically, then I guess that's fine. lol EDIT: Wanted to add something. lol I'm just catching up on the news threads, but I just wanted to say that Sauli said nothing about Adam or AI in Tutka. He and Katri were talking about X-Factor and Britney as a judge. I was surprised to hear that ppl had interpreted that as if he was referring to Adam or to some kind of inside info. Their job is to discuss reality tv in Tutkas and this is what they do, all the time. I found it kind of weird, because Sauli is always very prudent when it comes to Adam's stuff and their private lives. Since everyone was saying that Sauli had said something that could relate to Adam, I assumed they were right. I don't understand Finnish at all, so I had no way to check the information. So I'm sorry, Belle, since I was one of those who talked about it.  I wasn't trying to criticize Sauli or anything, on the contrary, I like him very much.  |

It's not like Adam wouldn't have brought some unpredictable outfits, hairstyles, comments and actions to the table. You would have had intelligent, well thought out comments from Adam, but there always would be that "what's he going to say next" feeling. Adam would have given them the unknown angle that Nicki gives them. What's she going to wear, what's she going to say... As far as Randy goes, My impression is that everything seemed to shift when Nigel signed back on. Did he not want Adam? Did he use up all their money for Enrique? Did they have to spend more than they wanted to on Nicki (and buying out her Pepsi contract) and Nigel? Did Nigel decide that they needed Randy back just this year to "steer the panel" until someone takes over? Nigel ran SYTYCD into the ground. I don't know why TPTB are allowing him to do the same with AI. Whateves, I'm enjoying the other two singing shows this fall! I have a weird theory that touches on one of yours. The original leaks on Minaj were that she was signing on for 8-10 million. The final leaks say 12 million. The difference between the 8 mil and 12 mil is 4 million, the price of a 4th judge. I think it was a last minute shiteroo (supposed to be "switcheroo" but I think my typo is better! I am leaving it!) to Randy to 1) stay in the budget and 2) keep Mariah happy. Randy may be doing this for scale. He already has his % of Mariah's salary. And coming back saves face instead of being kicked to the curb. The sudden switch from Enrique OR Adam, to suddenly "Randy is back" was too sudden for me to not think something weird happened at the end. And I also don't trust Nigel. He lies consistently, feeds TMZ info, and attacks fans on Twitter. I think Idol wouldn't meet Enrique's pay demands, so I believe that Adam/team Adam thought Adam was in and that was the reason for the empty Sept. calendar. Then - hell happens - and Randy is back in his damned seat. And Adam is out with his empty calendar. So I agree-something totally weird and unexpected happened. I think Randy fought tooth-and-nail to keep his seat and Nigel backed him - end of story for Adam. :-/ |

My burning question of the day is why are there tickets still available for the DC 930 club benefit concert??

I guess ticket prices and that its a Tuesday night, but this is a very small venue. Is Adam having trouble selling out even these small venues? The last show on the East Coast was also in DC. That was 4 months ago, and it did not have a big turn out.
This is Adams only East Coast show at the moment that we are aware of. Will be sad if this event that is for such a great cause doesn't sell out. IMO I think this will be one of those special unique concerts.

I think the dancers got better, but the show didn't. His manipulation is even more obvious on SYTYCD than it is on Idol. Sadly, I expect SYTYCD will probably be cancelled and this season was the last. The ratings were really bad. . Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe Adam's music was ever used for routines or background music. I've heard that David Cook's, Kris's, and Haley's music was used. Assuming Kelly's was used since she is everywhere. But I don't remember anything from Adam. Even DWTS used FYE and IIHY. And The Voice and Sing Off used WWFM. Hell, it seems as if international reality or variety shows use Adam's music a lot more than they do here. I've thought this on several occasions. SYTYCD used Mad World for one of their routines and chose the cover version that wasn't done by Adam. Why? They use cross promotion all the time. Nigel also made some rude comment about "Charlie Sheen being considered for judge" when he was asked about Adam. Ken Warwick has always loved Adam. I believe Simon Fuller came back, after the QAL shows, and gave Adam a VERY enthusiastic push and Ken agreed 100%. They were probably even more on on board with Adam after sitting down and talking to him. (you know Adam blew that meeting out of the water) Remember how "berty" the first leak was? Whoever leaked Adam's name to the first article had glowing things to say concerning what Adam would bring as a judge. For some reason, I just keep coming back to a shift around the time the serious negotiations were probably heating up with Nigel. I don't care for him. He's an ass on Twitter and his manipulations took all the joy out of SYTYCD for me. Also, he likes "masculine" gay men and has made that comment several times about the dancers on the show. |
