ETA: suddenly not sure I'm remembering that correctly I've been cleaning out old emails (I'm trying to consolidate so I can get rid of a few) and I came across some old convo's and I thought that one of them might have been Rowe. But it was so long ago and I have so many e-mail accts that I can't figure out which people and which board, or if they still have the same screen name. My mission is to wind up with a couple of accts that are free of shopping, ticket, and hotel e-mails so that when I put the account on my phone I'm getting e-mails from real people. I want all the misc stuff segregated into a misc e-mail acct.

glamtealady - I too have only once before been so overwhelmed in such circumstances, and it was also David Cassidy when I was 13 years old! I have actually thought about what they might have in common that caused the reaction but I cannot come up with anything sensible. Actually, a few years ago I was at a theater benefit and David Cassidy and his brother were there......he still looked good and I shook his hand. Didn't have the nerve though to explain my youthful crush which I now regret. Davy Jones was also a favorite but in elementry school. A few years ago I saw him at Epcot perform for the first time and he was very good and chrismatic. But of course neither can touch Adams voice. I think as a kid it was only looks and the tv shows they where on. Sorry for spamming, but this was a fun little discussion. And it's late, my filter is gone! Haha, I remember liking Davy Jones too, but I didn't have a huge crush on him. I DID have a huge crush on Paul McCartney as a teen, and also John Lennon and Mick Jagger. But I also had a pretty intense obsession with Keanu Reeves about 15 years ago, which only subsided when I substituted a couple of inappropriate real-life crushes (one was married, the other, when I was in grad school a few years ago, was a couple of decades younger...). And then grad school was finished and boom...Adam appeared. Ok, I probably shouldn't say this here, but for a while I kept calling Adam "Keanu" in my mind. Yikes. I guess it's that tall, dark, handsome thing! God only knows how I'll get out of this one...Actually, and sadly, one reason my young adult children are completely intolerant of my Adam obsession is because they lived through my Keanu years... Ok, maybe that was a little TMI. Yeah, I'm weird, I have issues... I actually appear pretty normal in real life, though, I swear! Seriously, regarding Adam, I really do wonder how so many people are so besotted with one man, and so focused on his success and happiness. Although I think it has to be related, in part, to both his incredible talent and his off the charts charisma. And his character. My Keanu obsession was a bit different, although I think that, like Adam, Keanu is a good person, as well as being quirky and charismatic. I actually would love it if my obsession with Adam subsides a bit so that maybe I could actually focus on a real life relationship. I don't completely understand what we get out of these obsessions, but for everyone it is a little different, I think. My Keanu obsession actually led me back to an old interest in theatre, and I know that I'm learning and growing with Adam too, it's just not as clear to me. But I like to think maybe I'm learning self-acceptance and courage. For me personally, however, it's been hard to maintain a balance between indulging the obsession and using it to fuel my own life. Ok...I'm done for the night. Big philosophical discussion with myself, lol, and probably a dead thread.

The Pink Floyd albums you mentioned were #7-#14. This is Adam's 2nd album. I hope fans aren't expecting a Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon at this stage of the game. Adam is just starting out and he is still very much in learning mode- especially when it comes to songwriting. I do believe he has incredible musical instincts and he will deliver an album that shows growth and is more personal to who he is as an artist. I hope that fans will remember it is a long process and they don't expect too much, too soon. Unlike you, I want some ready-made pop hits on this album. Album #2 is extremely important, especially for Idol contestants. Let's face it- Hit singles help sell albums for artists who haven't fully established themselves. Adam is a smart guy, he knows how important it is to have a couple of hit singles from each album. I'm betting he makes sure that he has some songs on this next album that are radio-ready. I never wrote anything about Adam putting out a DSTM quality album -- I used it as an example of how singles are not important. I also included the number of albums it took even one of the greatest bands ever to break thru to make just the point that a great album is rare. I do not think hit singles are that important -- but they seem to get a lot of focus in the Idol world. Financially, 1 million albums generates as much profit as 20 million tracks sold in the US if there are 4 singles promoted to US radio. Adam needs to sell over 700K units of Adam #2 to be a big success. If he gets a top 10 single and only sells 250K units of his album, it will not be good. RCA would be thrilled to have a 2P album with no hit single, and no radio promotion. That is how you generate huge profits. Not saying that Adam #2 will be 2P but just talking about the economics of the business. I think he will sell >700K of Adam #2. And he will almost certainly get a third album even if his sales are modest which I do not expect. The second album in my opinion will also be very concert ready.. This is where Adam totally shines and this is where the money is. It's so hard to sell millions of cds today because people can down load them for free. IMO todays radio songs act like PR for the artists tours. I'm sure Adam in his infinite wisdom ,knows what to do and we his fans will help him achieve his musical goals.
