This week should be interesting!! Who will go next??????? A girl (maybe Amber?) will get the least number of votes but the judges will save her. Next week 2 will have to go and one of them will be Lazaro!

I think Harrison is a much better singer than Lazaro. Indeed he is very Josh Grobin like tone to his voice... as a side note his version of Broken Vow is currently #5 on Oz Itunes singles...

Oh, Lazaro was terrible!!!!!!!!!!! Mariah doesn't sound great either in her explanation. I have not been watching, but, my cable box automatically records the current show on the channel it was last on, so Idol was being recorded. I fast forwarded thru the first three contestants and........ BORING, bad, yuck. Lazaro couldn't hit the low notes with any strength at all. His pitch throughout was shaky, but, when the key change happened he seemed to get lost between the two keys. What was worse was Mariah babbling on and on, looking for the right words to say. Not difficult, girl. "Your pitch was significantly off." Period. If she wants to be nice, "I admire your courage in overcoming your disability, but, your pitch was really off." What's so hard about that? As to the first two girls, yes, they are decent singers. Generic singers. Nothing unique or special about their performances that I would not hear from any lounge singer doing a Burt Bacharach retrospective. Nothing exciting. Nothing touching. Nothing I would want to listen to or watch again. Yawn. I can understand why the viewing numbers are down. I watch them and think, "Who cares?" Then, there's the fact that in something like 40 minutes they showed us just three contestants. At 90 seconds per performance, that is a total of less than 5 minutes of singing in 40 minutes of broadcasting. I just fast forwarded to the next song, so I don't know what the filler was, but, Idol, can you get more dragged out and boring? Is this typical of Idol this season? Thank the high heavens Adam isn't a judge.

Definitely the best of the crop. I wasn't as enamoured with the Bacharach number as everyone else. Still a bit boring to me. But, her second number was dynamite. She has pipes. And a nice interpretation. I haven't watched all her performances on Idol, but, considering all that I have seen she seems to have a definite lane in which she performs. Very good at what she does, without a doubt. But I don't see a lot of versatility. Ah, but I am spoiled by Adam, who gave us so many different types of performances on Idol, changing it up every week. He is the outlier. Most singers stay in their preferred genre. Our boy has set the bar too high in my mind, I admit.

cassie, Candace has shown versatility. She did the Beatles "Come Together" very rock and it was fantastic. She hasn't had an "off" performance all season.
