Ooooh, my s*&@^#r, that is a nasty swipe! But I agree Lazaro had to go -- it was getting embarrassing for everybody. I'm glad Lazaro didn't pull a Lazarus move on us!!! So we're down to five girls -- do you think a girl will win? Hah!

I am curious if their rating numbers will dip even further in the coming weeks. Not saying anything against the remaining contestants, but there isn't any fantasy boyfriend for the teens to swoon over. I can't see them giving a flying flip which GIRL wins the contest. And I imagine there are more than a few women of a certain age who don't care either. I am willing to bet the viewing and voting numbers will take a dive next week.

I wouldn't be surprised either, Cassie. The two younger women - Amber and Angie - who you would think might appeal to teens haven't done that well in the voting yet. Then there are the two country music women who have a limited appeal. (I am so glad that country music is not popular where I live!!!) And then there is Candice who is good but NOT "the best in the twelve years of Idol." Does Randy not remember Adam??? He was amazing -- I lived from week to week to see his next performance and my jaw never failed to drop! And Adam's personality shined through during those little Idol moments. I was so sad after the finale -- not because he didn't win so much, but because I was going to have to go without my weekly fix. That's when I started searching online and discovered I could have a daily fix! And I met all you nice people as an added bonus!!!

Oh no! Adam said yesterday in an interview that he didn't think he would be on Idol because he has nothing to promote. I really, really hope he does make an appearance -- just to promote himself -- to remind the masses that he has an international career.
I was thinking more about Adam's time on Idol and how clever his song choices were, plus how his outfits changed and worked with each song. I noticed the most recent crop of Idol guys made some (IMO) questionable fashion choices. Also, Amber keeps wearing these ragged jeans and shorts with her pockets hanging down -- I suppose they appeal to young people -- but to me, it just looks tatty. What ever happened to the days of looking your best for a public appearance? Call me an old grump!!!

Ha Ha! After my little rant about Amber's grunge look yesterday, Johnny Rice showed up wearing the same look onstage with Adam at Miami Pride. I guess they are fashion forward and I'm not! I still think Amber is not doing herself any favours with the voting public though.

Once again, for me, there is Candice....... then there is everyone else. Girl has not hit a bum note all season and she connects to every genre she sings! The over pimping of Amber by the judges and Jimmy was so obvious last night. I think Janelle will be bottom one but no one will be eliminated this week!

The over pimping of Amber by the judges and Jimmy was so obvious last night. I think Janelle will be bottom one but no one will be eliminated this week! The judges have been pimping Amber quite a bit. I think it's because of the girls still standing, Jimmy and the other folks responsible for post-Idol recording careers think that Amber has more potential than most of the other 4 contestants to succeed in the music business. She's tall and pretty, and she can really sing -- they probably see her as another Rihanna, but with a better voice. Same reason for the pimping of Angie -- lots of commercial appeal, although she may want to go into the Christian music genre, which has a smaller base than pop.
I've been thinking that although Candice and Kree have undeniable talent, behind the scenes there may be some concern that they will not be as commercial as Amber and Angie. Wouldn't surprise me if Jimmy and the record label folks are secretly hoping for an Amber/Angie final, even though the Idol TV audience may want Candice/Kree (who, imho, are more talented). But there is often a disconnect between who Idol audiences vote for and who has success in the music business (see S8 ) -- it will be interesting to see how the pimping of Amber pans out.

Great post, iridium. I never thought Phillip Phillips was commercial either, but apparently Interscope has magic powers!! I think that either Candice or Kree will go out at #3 & the Finale will be Angie with whichever one of those 2 is still there. I would LOVE a Kree and Candice Final but I am not hopeful for it!
