The magic of this piece belongs entirely to Animated. I requested a few of her favorite Adam portraits to illustrate a story. But when I received these amazing illustrations and titles, a new story just wrote itself.
Being an Adam fan is a very unusual and powerful experience. Adam fans are widely recognized as passionate and intensely loyal. But I think only fans really know how passionate Adam fans can be. It goes beyond just liking an artist’s music or having fun at his concerts.
First and foremost, I have learned that Adam fans are some of the most creative, caring and interesting women and men I have ever met.
Adam and his amazing fans have pushed me to re-examine my view of the world and of myself. They have pushed me to expect more or myself and of others.
It has taught me that life is not filled with right and wrong, that life and truth can never be just black or white.
MANY SHADES OF GRAY ... life will never be just black or white.
Just as I have learned that life will never be black or white, and this forum has taught me that ATop members (and Adam fans) are not easy to classify and represent a broad spectrum of opinions, life experiences and interests. [Yes, I did avoid using the world rainbow.]
[Interruption – here is Adam performing “Black or White” – not really related to my point but the title does match.]
I have also learned how easy it is to avoid “listening” when you are online. In a “real world” conversation you can’t skip and scroll. But online you can scroll past other people’s ideas, avoid long posts or just create digital planet of your own by only connecting with certain people. Well maybe it is not so different than the “real world” after all. It is kind of like going to a cocktail party and finding a group of people and hanging with them all night. You listen to some of what they say, but allow your mind to wander.
And when you read everything – it sometimes just does not make any sense.

CHASE THE DARK AWAY
We’ve all been there. But there is a place for the light side of life and for the darkness. We dream in the dark, our imaginations run wild in the dark, the dark is the place of magic and transformation.
VULNERABLE : Dreaming is nursed in darkness....
You wake up one day and you realize that you should not “think outside the box” because if you do, you have created a box. I have never fit into any of those boxes. And recently I started to notice that across the spectrum of Adam fans, there was one thing many of us have in common. We do not fit in a box – in any box. Just like Adam.
OUT OF THE BOX
There are times when we learn something from a book or from a teacher. But most of what I have learned, I have learned from experiences. Being the Admin of Adamtopia has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I learn something new about life here every day.
