Doing that thing I do that I know I shouldn't do but I do anyway where I post before I read the thread ;D (so sorry if this has been covered), but I see some peeps were discussing the financial cost of the gay marriage ban and I thought I'd post a link to a NYTimes article from about three years ago where they actually researched the question and put a number on it. They determined that in the best case scenario (depending on various factors such as the quality of their employee benefits, etc), an "average" gay couple* has to pay around $41K more over the course of their lifetime, and in the worse case scenario they have to pay a whopping $468K more for various services (health insurance, children, pensions, spousal inheritance, etc), over the course of a lifetime. Check out the article, it's very interesting, and there's a great graphic breaking down the extra costs at the top. Of course that means that there area all sorts of variables that might change in individual cases and the whole experiment is really just a loose one anyway, and of course doesn't take into account the emotional costs of anti-gay social structures. |

Me too.. don't like Russell Brand.. he's coocoo  I was kind of happy to see Russell Brand was listed to be on the same show. It gives some legitimacy to the show being one that brings in the big names. Russell and Adam will probably have a blast together and it will be a fun show. Adam is finally going to be on TV, this should be a good thing! Was reading the Facebook and it seems to be like Graham Norton. All the guests are on the couch at once. It will be a riot! Of course, Adam knows Russell because of Katy :-/ Yes, I just got tickets but still not sure if I can go.ETA: Isn't the Glambert mottto, "Get tickets. Make plans later!" |

I remember pics of Russell Brand and Adam standing beside each other, so for sure they have met...how friendly ..not a clue??? Right after those pics appeared Adam complimented Brand on his suit/clothes in an article.
Anyway...an FYI
Brand and Schaal do know each other. Note this youtube of the two of them. They are pretty dominating in terms of "air time" talk. JUST HAPPY ADAM IS CHOSEN for the show!!!

I've never heard of this show, so seeing that Russell was also going to be on the show,along with Adam, was a sign that RCA/DMG is working to get Adam on shows that are at least up and comers on the talk show circuit. |
