It looks like they really like Adam version of this song  ) Oh, the memories.... I am so happy and grateful that this card juggler has taken this song in the background. A major turning point in my life was when I heard / saw Adam singing the "Mad World" in Idol. I was like,-what is this,-how anyone can sing beautifully. It was the moment, when I realized, that this person (Adam) is something exceptionally special. And I fell in love with Adam irrevocably. Every time I hear Mad World, that moment comes to mind. You know every time I read something he says about being outrageous I laugh. I don't see him that way. I see him playing a part mostly with a child like fun. When there is no fun or good intention in an artist and the way they act then I see it as outrageous and not in a good way. Could be the way I interpret the word!! That's funny. I have the same sort of reaction. Yes, he occasionally does something outrageous on stage, but it's usually a bit silly or followed with an eye roll. Or maybe my conforming self has just become desensitized after three years. :  Oh, and he does like to party. |

Good morning everyone!
I saw a lot of comments yesterday about the 9:30 Club gig on Tuesday night, and wanted to follow up. I am sure the event will have a good crowd, but who knows if it will sell out. It is my opinion that the event will be a success even if they only sell 500 tickets - that would mean raising $75,000+ for marriage equality, which is GREAT!!
Raising money for a good cause is the intent of the gig, and Adam is helping make this happen by traveling here to represent. Whether or not the venue sells out is irrelevant with regards to Adam's popularity. The tickets are $125, and that is not going to attract a casual Adam Lambert fan, but it should attract the supporters of MME. If MME wants to raise a lot of $$, I hope they are out heavily promoting this to their constituants. Sadly they don't even have it featured on their website.
Like some others who posted yesterday, it is unfortunate for the cause if they don't sell out this great opportunity, but lack of an audience has nothing to do with Adam. I does have a lot to do with the last minute announcement, but they are doing a good job with promotion around the area, so we'll see. I don't think that the venue and the Tuesday night date have much to do with the event's popularity. The 9:30 club is low key, but it is very well known and hugely popular. And people go out in DC every night. It is probably easier to find an open spot on people's calendars on a weeknight than trying to do this on a weekend. Political benefits are normally on weeknights.
When I saw Adam at the 9:30 club 2 years ago the place was packed and a very diverse crowd. I think that DC loves Adam and no matter how many people come to this benefit, it should not reflect on his popularity in the area. I am excited to go and feel blessed that Adam is bringing his full band here for such a great cause!!!
Anyone who is thinking about coming but worried about traffic, etc, shouldn't fear that. Getting INTO DC on a weeknight isn't a problem. I can get to the 9:30 club from my office in Arlington in about 15 minutes because it is going against the rush hour traffic flow. Parking isn't a problem around the club either. There are several lots that you can park in for $10 to $20 bucks depending on how far from the venue you want to be.

Emo Adam , Sex Master Adam (FYE) , Moody Adam (WWFM) , Burning Man Adam , Zodiac Show Adam , American Idol Adam , Dark Adam , Light Adam , Futuristic Adam (NCOE) , Sushi Wolf Adam , BlondeBert Adam , Goofball Adam , OMFG Adam , OTT Adam ........Ya know , there are much much much more Adams , lol . I can't decide which one , I think I'm in love with them all !! |
