I have one question perhaps someone can answer. I believe Adam will be the first American star to appear on the Voice of China (after all, the show itself has only been on for a few months). But how recent is the fact of major American entertainers doing big stadium concerts in China? OK, I know that Maroon 5 (with the other Adam) did a concert (or concerts) this last month. Were the Maroon 5 show(s) a first? Will our Adam, with his concert(s) in December be a pioneer? From what I read from twitter conversation yesterday between Terra & Alidol, it's a lot of Bureaucracy to have him perform due to the Chinese law i.e. gay. Then Alidol mentioned about Jake & Scissor Sister's concert that was cancelled recently. Not sure if it's due to his sexuality or not. However if Adam has a concert in December, I think he will be the first western gay singer who have a concert in China. Maybe we can ask Maddie to confirm it with Alidol about this?
It has very little or nothing to do with his sexuality. I said it in yesterday's thread that very few foreign acts or artists could really make a grand impression on the national scale in China, I forgot to point out one of the main reasons was because of the Chinese Ministry of Culture. Here is a link to better understand what this Chinese government bureau does: www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/24/banned-china-lady-gaga-perry.
This is why that Modonna has never had concerts in China, MJ wasn't banned but the chance never materialized. And, no Pop diva from today's music landscape has had concerts in China, many of their songs are on the "black list". Interestingly, Elton John has been very welcome in China. He'll have a concert in Shanghai in Nov. then Hong Kong, his last concert in China was 8 years ago. Maroon 5 just had their very first concert in China on Sept 25th, so our Adam won't be the first major American entertainer to have concerts in China, however, he'll be the first to perform on Chinese National TV, on the most popular program at that. There're other foreign acts before him though: Avril and Shakira, who have also appeared on Chinese TV before.

And Adam didn't have to hold back on the duet so as not to bury the contestant.
