Ladies & gents! The int'l mystery of @alidol's gender has been solved!!!!
@alidol is actually a GIRL but "disguised" as a BOY on weibo!
Very interesting! But WHY? well, I have no idea and that's why I'm one of those Chinese they'd like to call a "banana Chinese".  ;D but luckily we have "bluenile", one of our newest Atopians a Chinese student studying in Philly, to give us the insight. With her permission, here's her explanation in her reply to my pm:
"sure, pls share this! i guess the reason might be... usually we don't take online profiles a serious matter in china. gender, age, etc.
so when i register for a chinese community, like weibo, i always set the gender "male"
Now, I just got one question: are there any "disguised" Atopians here???

I do that a lot too. Especially on board for help stuff, like an Apple forum for my iPhone etc. ;D |

I think the winner will be voted by the audience, voting is still on-going and the judges are pimping their 'students'. So far, the one with the leading votes is the guy who sang with a guitar. LoL :4OMG: I want Adam's guy to win though. :Clap: |

I'm confused about the contestant that sang with Adam.
Has he already been eliminated and is not a finalist?

Adam was so shiny and ... everything!!!
His duet partner is not a finalist, unfortunately, but he is good. And the finalists are good.
I think I read yesterday that there will be an after party for finalists and Adam, hope that Zhang Wei can participate too. He did very well in the duet.
As for Trespassing, I expect the Voice of China official site having better sound mix than the live stream which was very dry. I am going to listen to it later, there is too much traffic on my computer at the moment with three streams and some other sites, lol.
Streams worked and Chinese fans are excited about Adam - GREAT DAY!!!

What is meant by "dry feed"? I think it is when the sound is transported directly from the microphone, and Adam hates it. ( that's what happened at AMAs), I think. Anyone, correct me, please, if I'm mistaken. Adam managed to sound fabulous, dry feed or not. Yes the AMA's was my first experience with Adam talking about the dry feed sound. He still raised the roof with Trespassing...and I said before I loved this version...fast and the differerent innotations with words...VERY COOL! |

The 4 standing on stage now has a chance to win. I am still watching cos the I think host mentioned that Adam will be back in the prize giving ceremony. (disclaimer: my understanding of Mandarin is at elementary level) |

Anyone notice that in addition to the "my Yay" in the place of "my ass" he also sang "no dress" instead of "no BS". Just as he was willing to modify his show in Kuala Lumpur in order to be able to entertain his fans he was obviously willing to adjust his lyrics here in order to be able to perform. In some cases it is more beneficial for an artist to compromise in order to be heard than to draw a hard line. Adam seems to have good judgement as to when it is to his advantage to give a little. There is something to be said for being willing to bend a little in order to get your foot in the door rather than rigid refusal to compromise. ITA rhiannsu....but it begs the question: Why did/would he not change the "he" to "You" in Fever? I still think that track, with some support, would/could have been the break through hit of FYE. |
